and im STILL not feeling much of anything

i dont know what to do:banghead: i dont want pit :yuck:

have you been trying anything to get things going?

we have been trying to have more sex:giggle: but seriously hubby barely has any time. And when he does...........im already asleep. Nipple stim............... walking, actually jogging :roflmbo: on the elliptical. Im always eating spicy food. Hubby has been doing that massage on the inner ankle............:headscratch: but i dont think he's doing it right

im getting annoyed cause EVERYONE wants this baby here now. Or..........."not this day" cause its not a good day for "them" :sissyfight: im getting pissy not because im uncomfortable but because of everyone {live with my family:thud: } around me :bite:

My MW told me that most 1st babies you thin first and then dialate, with 2nd+ babies you dialate then thin. I am 38 weeks and still thick and 1 1/2 cm. They still think I will go this week. So you never know Momma!!! Also, if he is not here by next week I am getting help from stripping membranes and cervadril (sp?), instead of pit. My boy is alread 8 lbs 2 oz and if he goes to term could about 10 lbs as he is gaining 1 lb a week right now. I would ask about other methods to help first if you want to avoid pit.

YUP thats what i told my doc. If at the next appt., friday, i am not farther along "STRIP ME BABY" :giggle2:

only thing is................. last time, with my 1st, i was stripped and i ended up having a leak for a good week and ended up having pit anyways

she was either 2-3 weeks early and was like 8.6. So im wondering how big this little guy is gonna be :afraid:

You're finally in the home stretch-unfortunately it seems to be the longest one :banghead: I'm due on Thursday and have come to the conclusion that he's just not ever coming out :waiting: I've been stripped twice, walked enough to win a marathon, have had s*x more in the last week than we've had in the last 6 months, and even drank castor oil-nothing  We can count the minutes together :goodvibes: sara

Boy can I understand!! With DD I was 4 cm and 80% effaced at 34 weeks so I was sure that when I tried all the "natural induction" stuff at 39 weeks that something would work. Not!! This time I've been 3 cm since about 36 weeks but not nearly as much effaced, and the only thing I haven't tried yet is castor oil. LOL But it didn't do a lick of good last time.

I thought I'd mentally prepared myself over the past 27 months to go overdue again, but guess not. I think it's almost harder this time because I'm UC'ing so I'm SOOOOOOOO excited for the different experience and just knowing that I don't have to call anyone or go anywhere makes the anticipation all the more fun! (but not fun enough to keep waiting! LOL)

I think the due date is the day when you should start expecting them to come, not before then :) I am 38 weeks tomorrow and I haven't been checked because I am no where close to having a baby yet. I still have 14 more days before she might think about coming out.(in my mind)

When we start to try to get these babies going early.. then we start home inductions and then hospital ones and it turns into bad births and C sections.
Just my:2cents:

I do understand being wanting to meet our babies!:hugs: Its so exciting :) But I want it to be on her time when my body is ready so that it goes smoothly.

Oh man, I don't even think we should expect them to come by the DD. Let's start at 42 weeks and go from there...that should lessen disappointment, right? So seriously, though...EDD's are so annoying. They cause way too many expectations IMO. This time I'm not even going by one...just a general timeframe. Not that it's helping much but at least I'm not counting down to a certain day, KWIM?

But I also think that most of the "natural induction" things- specifically those like sex, walking, pineapple, EPO, etc- can only do good once you hit term, since they won't BRING baby out, but they'll help the body prepare for labor. The ones like castor oil and nipple stim should probably be saved for later or once ctx have already started (that's when I've used it...but it doesn't make any difference because I'm still nursing anyway so it's all the same).

I totally agree! My midwife said anywhere between now and 5 more weeks. OMG rofl! But she is right.. it could be 43 weeks, hoping for more like 2/3 but you never know! I have always had a feeling she would be a June baby and I will be excited if she isn't:giggle2:

*Ugh* I feel for you. I was 38 weeks yesterday at my appointment and I'm only 1.5 cm dialated and 50% as well. The midwife came in with a bottle of primrose oil gel caps to insert at night, though. She did this before even checking me... I guess since I was volunteering for an exam she figured I was getting a little impatient, lol.

I hope they work to get my cervix going. I'm dying to meet my baby girl. (And to have a belly that doesn't wake me up itching every night :giggle2: )

I know how you feel! I'm so ready to meet my ds and he is not showing any signs of getting ready to come. I started taking 5W and primrose so we will see if that helps!

I feel the exact same way! In my mind I've mentally prepared myself for this baby to arrive around the due date. And so I'm patiently waiting and preparing for this new little one. It freaks me out a bit to think of the baby coming early because I don't 'feel' ready yet. Plus I feel the baby will come when it is really ready. I can't wait to meet this new little one but I want it to come on its own.

Interestingly enough, I was exactly a week over with my daughter. Once I turned 40 weeks the ob/gyn wanted to know if I wanted to schedule an induction because it would be favorable at that point. I was shocked because I thought it was only done when medically necessary such as going over by at least 2 weeks or there were complications. I said no because I wanted the least amount of intervention as possible.

Anyways...I'm 38 weeks now and maybe a cm dilated and 50% effaced but that baby hasn't dropped at all yet. So I think I have a little more time left. ;) We finally put together the crib last night though! Yay! :goodvibes:
