If you haven't chosen a name yet, what do you call the baby? We call this one the shrimp. One of the updates we read said the baby was about the size of a shrimp and dh just stuck with that. so far a nickname hasn't stuck, we have names picked out if it's male... but if it's a girl, oh man!:banghead: I think I was almost due before we could agree on a third girl name, dh is leaving for Iraq soon and I want to have a girl name picked out just in case this one pops out female too!

bean or pumpkin....we need gender neutral nicknames that we can use because i am finding out what we are having and rick isn't. i have to have a name i can use because i don't want to accidentally say parker or ella (we are for sure on parker...i can't convince him ella is perfect though...i think once babe is here he will realize how perfect it is.).

Good luck mama! We've got our male name all picked out too but are having the hardest time with girl names, ugh. There are just sooo many...
Good luck with the upcoming deployment too!
We called my daughter Joe because we thought it might be a boy and Joseph was to be the name but now I'm preg. again, my family is calling this one Joe and it's irking me. We don't plan on re-using a name, even if it wasn't really used, if that makes sense.

We didn't really have one for our first son. Although after he was born I started calling him Macy moo moo. So Moo moo stuck. Kinda feel bad about that one! This one, EDD 10-5, I am calling 'little one'. DH and I can not decide on a name (boy). My mother called me 'little one' growing up, so it's sentimental.

started calling ours 'my tenant' jokingly. before it was a fetus i called it 'little embryo' but somehow 'little fetus' doesn't sound as sweet. i have been looking for a good nickname though b/c we will not be telling anyone else the sex, and i don't want to slip. it gets old saying 'the baby' all the time.

ben and jeri, that's cute! lol.
as far as gender neutral names go, there's a million to choose from. I refer to baby as whatever veggie it's close in size to. I think, according to babycenter, baby is the size of a green pepper right now. lol. so yea, it's "the pepper" now.

Babycenter is why we call ours the shrimp. You must be 18 weeks, too. I just read the pepper on Sunday when I hit my 18th week :giggle2:

After the shrimp was the avacado but dh said it didn't sound as good so we stuck with the shrimp. I'm sure that's what we'll call it until it's born....and maybe after, too since we have sunch tiny babies and kids :giggle:

A friend of mine, not married and has no children... mistakenly asked me, "How's the little tadpole doing?" I was pretty insulted then. But honestly, if it came from one of my friends with children, I may not have taken it quite so badly.

Seems like I've been away from DS for way too long.
We've called all of our kids either spices or herbs... DS was paprika, DD was basil, and this baby until he/she emerges from the womb will be "coriander" At least this way I can call them something. The sex and name of this baby will remain a secret until he/she emerges from the womb, so we have names either way.

We call her Eva most of the time, but I call her Thumper a lot now that she is apparently doing Tae Bo in there. Her 11 year old sister calls hubby "Fun Filled Stuffed Burrito." As soon as we told her that we were having a baby, she started calling the baby "Jr. Burrito."

At the first ultrasound, i was 7 1/2 weeks, and all I had was a yolk sac and a tiny blob with a heartbeat, which looked like a blinking light... so we nick-named the baby "Blinky".
Once I started to feel the baby moving, with increased energy and force... we upgraded the nick-name to Bruiser :)

LOL TK10, my husband thought I was harsh for threatening to ground this baby before I was even through my first trimester. Of course, throwing up for 5 months will make ya cranky. However, I showed great restraint this weekend and I did not threaten to ground her for the gestational diabetes - or even when she kicked the hospital mattress all night the first night. I hated it to so I couldn't blame here. That bed was downright painful - and the scary part is the nurses kept telling me the postpartum beds like I had were more comfy than the labor beds. Now that I am condemned to a hospital birth I am really not happy to hear that the labor beds are THAT bad....After two nights in that bed I told my husband we are not coming into the hospital til the baby crowns....
