Will it affect the baby??

I've had a cold for about a week to a week and a half and I'm 13 weeks and 4 days pregnant. I don't think it affects the baby, as long as you aren't taking any medication of course. I ended up taking two Tylenol around 4am because I'd had a really bed headache for over 24 hours and now I feel REALLY guilty. I know Tylenol is ok, but still.
What I do is first thing in the morning, when I wake up all stuffed up and my throat hurting I go and get in a really hot shower for 15 or 20 minutes and (gross I know:yuck: ) blow my nose like a 100 times and clean all that gunk out of my throat and it makes the day a lot more bearable. I also go down stairs and have a few spoons full of honey after my shower to sooth my throat. Good Luck! I hate feeling sick. I finally get over the morning sickness and now this stupid cold!

I haven't been taking any medicines i'm wayy to scared to take anything. Even tylenol...just cause I promised myself not to take anything that could even remotely affect this little one. I guess i'll just let my body fight it out.

I had a nasty head cold that kept me home in bed for three days last week. I finally spoke with my midwife and a pharmacist. They both told my Tylenol and Benedryl were safe...so if it gets desperate those are the only things I know that can be done. If you don't want to take anything than you can try sitting in the bathroom while you run the shower hot, and steam things out. Hope you feel better soon.

I had a TERRIBLE viral cold (with a lot of coughing and congestion) at 10 weeks (I'm 14 now). Boy, was it terrible. I ended up trying to stay hydrated, drink herbal tea, and used unmedicated cough drops. I couldn't even bring myself to use Tylenol though I did make DH go out and get some because we were out :giggle:
Take heart...it will pass. It took me longer to get better, but my body eventually fought it off. I told my OB about it and they didn't seem too concerned.
