In september, I plan on opening a "green" day care in my home in Oak Lawn, IL.

I will be offing natural and organic child care (organic foods, natural cleaning products used, no plastics for eating/drinking etc..) starting in september. Of course I am OK with CD's (lol) and also with BM.

Reasonable rates, and meals/snacks/drinks included.

Just wanted to get this out there in case anyone in the area will be looking for childcare or knows anyone who will be looking for childcare come the fall.

PM me if you want more info, or you can email greenbabydaycare@yahoo.com

Thanks!

Jen

What a great idea! My grandparents lived in Hometown so I am very familiar with your area.... if you were closer to me I would check you out :)

I am asking $175 full time including all meals/snacks/drinks except for formula (or breast milk obviously). I only do organic foods and try to avoid over processed junk.

Most people around me charge $125 to $150 without including food, so I figure I am right on target prices wise. I havent had anyone complain about my rates or suggest that they are too high.

For the one little boy I watch part time, I am charging $6 an hour.

good for you! I have run a similar home day care for the past 5 years (in Kenosha) and charge just a little more than you. Have you done a cost comparison to the daycare centers? Imo, and certainly others, you are providing a premium service to others, so be sure not to devalue yourself!

I'm actually working on switching to before and after school care now that my oldest is going into 1st grade.

I didnt know you were in Oak Lawn. I used to live in Chicago Ridge but now we are in Romeoville. I do home daycare as well, but I charge $30/day flat rate, "all inclusive" lol

I currently have a little 3 mo old baby boy here, he started last week!

A friend of mine just moved to romeoville. She is by weber and taylor.

I thought about doing a "per day" pricing, but it actually works out better for me hourly for part time care.
