I'm not sure if this is the right place for this? But i have a question for mama's of kids with CORN & COCONUT allergies.

What kinds of laundry detergent are safe? Everything makes my son react. We have tried:powdered Dreft, Tide regular liquid, Wisk HE, Purex HE, Charlie's Soap, Allen's Naturally, Country Save, 7th Generation. They all contain corn or coconut derived ingredients and he gets a rash over his whole body from them.

Most companies won't tell me if there's anything bad in them. My allergist also won't send in a medical request. She and our peds office just keep telling us to use Dreft, but we know he can't use the powdered, and although he hasn't reacted so far to the liquid, it isn't HE compatible or cloth diaper compatible.

I'm just lost.

How about soap nuts? I don't use them but worth a shot for a natural alternative.

dont use anything! no, really. allergic children have compromised immune systems and potential irritants only increase the load they have to bear. it is best to use cotton clothing and sheets, and wash in vinegar, if anything. do his laundry separately as im sure he cant be *that* dirty, wash on hot, and if you are worried about germs, squirt some grapefruit seed extract in.

Oh no! my ds has severe allergies too, but thankfully, has no reaction to F&C (costco brand) and he is even fine with Tide. Have you tried doing an extra rinse on his clothes?

We seam to have gotten the rash in the diaper area figured out. He can't tolerate baking soda. We are also using vinegar in the rinse to help ensure all the detergent is rinsed out. We are using Country Save and since i stopped using the baking soda and oxi-clean the rash has mostly gone away. He only has a couple of spots left and those were a reaction to diaper fabric.

Have you tried the ALL free & clear? I hear really good things about it. I know several moms that use it with diaps & ect. It is worth a shot...maybe!

DD is allergic to soy and Milk and we cant use most wipe solution mix things because they have soy oil in them and they make dd bleed. :hugs: i can sympathize
