Hi everyone! I'm new here... I've been lurking a bit and reading diaper chatter but I will need lots of advice. This is our very first baby, and we really want to cloth diaper (I even have DH on board!). I don't know what to start with though. What do I buy to try first? I really want to cloth diaper from day 1, and I want to start a stash now and buy a little at a time so I don't have to buy it all at once. SPAM ME! I need advice!!!:giggle:
We had our first ultrasound last Tuesday! We have a heartbeat! 122 bpm @ 6 wks 2 days. I was measuring @ 6 wks, but they left my due date January 11th.
Anyway I'm very excited to be here and get to know you ladies!

WELCOME mama. How exciting , your first. Ohh the days of all those little firsts. sigh.... This will be our 4th. Our house is loud and crazy already. My first recomendation. NO KLO's I have heard they suck absorbancy wise, but hold poo well. Dappi covers fall apart fast. I love thirsties covers for ease of being able to wipe the inside down if poo gets on it. Swaddle bees nb are cute and absorbant. I say hunt those on fsot for fitteds. And mutts next stocking will have over 50 nbs. Other than that we haven't cd a nb either. So we are adding little by little as well. I heard 4SR mutts also go down to 6lbs. hope that helps. Ohh and gmd orange prefolds.

ahh thanks, yup they need a cover. I just let my nephew go coverless with fitteds I make him and pf and just change him often. His mom is not so bold as to chance a leak. :giggle:. I will be buying lots of cute covers for this new bean. EBF poo is explosive, so that is a must if I am sharing my bed again.

Welcome! I clothed a newborn and used prefolds and covers. They worked great, and are cheap with how many times you have to change them:) We also love Thirstie covers. Leslie's Boutique as the cheapest ones and she is really nice! http://www.lesliesboutique.com/category_s/124.htm Good luck!

Welcome! Ooo, I'm excited to meet some more first time mamas on here. This will be my first too and I also hope to CD from day one (hopefully even in the hospital if I can swing that).

Mama, maybe you can help me out. Where do I find the mutt's page? I have been reading the diaper chatter for months and I think I found the link once, but I've lost it.
Also, despite lurking for awhile, I'm not sure if I know what the "gmd" stands for for the prefolds.
