Our 4 mo old hates her infant seat- so we thought we would invest in a convertable one and heard Britax is the best - sooo there are 5 differrent models! Which one is best and why... thanks!

We have the Evenflo Triumph Advanced, but if we got a Britax it would be a marathon. There are so many cute covers! :goodvibes:

We have the Blvd.
It lasts the longest and I prefer the strap adjustments.

I would suggest the Boulevard or the Marathon. Both have high harness slots and a 65lb weight limit. The Decathlon is nice, but I've heard it can be prone to adjustment issues. The Boulevard has a great harness adjuster and SIP wings. The Marathon is a super seat, though (we have 2 of them!).
The Evenflo Triumph Advanced that the PP mentioned is a nice seat as well.

The BLVD & Marathon are about the same besides the BLVD has side impact protection. Many kids outgrow the BLVD but still have a little room in the Marathon.
I would go between the Marathon & BLVD.
The Roundabout & Diplomat will not last nearly as long because they only go to 40lbs FFing and have shorter shells.
The Decathlon has some major adjuster issues (some do find it fine but many end up replacing it with another seat)
I buy all the kids seats from www.albeebaby.com

The diplomat and roundabout only have a 40lb weight limit and the boulevard, marathon and decathlon have a 65lb weight limit, the also have higher top harness slots. IMHO I would not spend the money on a roundabout or diplomat and only get a 40lb weight limit. I would either go with a marathon or boulevard, the boulavard has true side impact protection and infinate adjust harness, while the marathon has more cover choices. Both, as long as they have a new date of manufacture, will have a 35lb RFing weight limit. Albee Babies (http://www.albeebaby.com/britax.html#top) usually has great deals and their shipping and CS is awesome.

We have the Blvd., and also got it before Z outgrew the infant seat - he hates it too. I really like it, and he seems super comfy in it (looks like he's chilling in a Lazyboy, LOL). The only issue is that it's huge. It fits perfectly in the Yukon, but even in my 4runner it's a tight fit and interferes with being able to put the front seats back. We're thinking about the Diplomat as our 2nd seat, but I'm bummed that it has a lower height limit of 40" instead of 49" (Z hits the height limit before weight on everything).

We have the marathon and love it! We are about to buy a second for DD as she hates her infant seat. *We* did not go with the seat that has side impact protection because the "guards" around the head limited DS's visibility and drove him nuts while he was trying it out. We don't plan on getting it for DD as she hates anything around her head (we couldn't even use a head support with her as a newborn :eyeroll:

We have the BLVD and love love love it! My DS loves the side wings and they are great for sleeping. He never seems to have trouble with seeing things out the window. I think the biggest plus of the BLVD is the shoulder adjustment. No threading straps through a new slot, you just turn the wheel.

I also say the Boulevard. It will last a really long time, and we chose it also b/c it has the true side impact protection!

I would advise against a roundabout. We had one with DD and she outgrew it. We bought a Marathon as a replacement and LOVE it!!!!!

I am on the decathlon bandwagon these days... I like that the crotch strap adjusts and you can actually get use out of the body pillows with a 4 mo old!
we have a MA for when lil DS is outta his safe seat but I am wishing we got a decath instead

My 8 month old is in a Boulevard and my 3 year old is in a FPSVD (basicly a marathon without some of the extra features, made by britax but a bit cheaper). We really like both. My 3 year old loves his so much that when I got into an accident and had to replace it, he refused to sit in any other seat. He kept asking for his seat, so I had to buy the exact same one instead of upgrading to say the Regent. LOL He loves that seat!
The BEST seat is going to be the seat that fits your car with a great install, fits your child well, and is used correctly each and every time. There are other brands out there that are super safe.
points to remember (Cause I am carseat anala nd like to spread the word LOL)
*rear facing in the middle of the backseat is really safe. The longer you rear face, the better. even toddlers! feet touching the seat or being bent is not an issue as their legs will be just fine in an accident. some say they will get a broken leg (lahtough i have neve3r hear of a case with such) its easier to fix a broken leg than a broken neck. "broken leg, cast it. broken neck, casket" stuck in my head
*straps should be snug and chest clip should be armpit level and make sure hte straps arent twisted.
*harness in a 5 point harness as long as possible.. much safer than any belt out there. my kids iwll be in a 5 point til at least 8, but will be in as long as there is a seat on the market that fits them :giggle2:
*dont use "seat savers" under the seat. it gives false sense of a tight install
*dont' use any aftermarket products. just abotu all of them are no recommended....strap covers, support pillows, double headrests, ect. if it didnt come with the carseat, you most likely shouldnt use it.
i'll shut up for now :)
