Ok I know there is a really small precentage of women who still get periods when pg. Or even that first month.....
The reason I'm wondering is I'm still trying to figure out when I'm due. I'm sure my midwife will send me for an early u/s but my first appt is not till Oct 11......ugh I'm anxious to find out now.
With dd#1 I got a really faint line at 5 weeks and got sick at exactly 6. I knew exactly when she was concieved so it was really easy to figure out. With dd#2 I was fuzzy on conception date but was able to figure out my due date within a few days because again I got a faint line at 5 weeks and sick at bang on 6 weeks.
Well #3 was a pleasant surprise. To make things more confusing I have irregular cycles and a had really crazy one a few weeks back. Basically I had a period on July 22 (6 weeks after the last) then I had one on Aug 10 (2 and half weeks after the previous one) Which was weird since I have never had a cycle that short. I tend to go longer like 5-7 weeks. It seemed heavy enough to be a normal period and I spoke to a friend who said hers came early that month due to the full moon. (Not sure if there is anything in that??)
Anyway last week I thought I had the flu (which would have been 4.5 weeks since the Aug 10 period) I didn't suspect anything right away and didn't test till Thursday which was exactly 5 weeks. Well it was a strong positive almost immeadiately.
So what do you think?

I think you are 5wks :)
Many people get sick right away. Its all horomone based. Maybe its twins ;)
I hear that there are SOME women who do bleed for a month or two, but I think it is VERY rare.

Some women get breakthrough bleeding when they ovulate  Considering the 8/10 "af" was just 2 1/2 weeks after the previous one, I'd almost think that's what it was.

it's hard to say. Having a cycle when already pg is rare, but so is a full cycle only 2.5 weeks after the last. Also, the darkness of the tests isn't necessarily accurate. Plus, if your cycles are that off, you could have ovulated anywhere in that timeframe.
Have you had your hcg levels checked? That could give you a pretty good idea if you're two weeks farther along. Other than that, 3 weeks seems like forever but all you can do is wait for the dating ultrasound.
good luck!

I am one of those that have a period while preggo.:yuck: usually the 1st 4 months:banghead:
Was it a normal period same length?flow?ect?Mine is shorter & not as heavy
to give you an idea I usually go 5-7 days with 2 being flood flow 2 being spotty and one being moderate
while preggo its 2-3 days & day 1 is light,day 2 moderate,day 3 light to spotty
also when you had the early "period" had you dtd? if so the cervix is soft and it could be from that iuf it was 1-3 days:giggle: epecially if your dh was a bit "rough" with your cervix

I think it was about 4 days....a touch shorter than normal and perhaps a bit lighter. But not overly.......like I didn't feel at the time it was out of the ordinary...except for the timing. (Which as well as the short cycle it ended up falling on DH's b-day.) I believe life was a little hectic in the few days leading up to dh's bday so we hadn't done anything......cause I remember looking forward to the evening and then having disappointment set in

I had bleeding when I was pregnant around the time my period would have been, not sure if it was really my period or something else, but it happened at about the time I would have expected my AF for the first four or five months. I was not trying to get pregnant at the time, and I was on the pill, so maybe that had something to do with it, don't know and the doctor couldn't explain why either. I didn't find out I was pregnant until I was 17 weeks along...and only then because I felt the baby moving which is something I had felt with previous pregnancies and there was no mistaking it! An ultrasound confirmed how far along I was.
I'd say if you got a positive then you are pregnant...not sure on dating though. Your doc will be able to give you something more firm with an US. Have you made your first appt yet?

my om bleeds solidly through being pregnant, i know not quite what youre looking for, but theres all kinds of things that can hapen to your body, pregnant or not!
anyway it sounds like when most people do have some spotting in a pregnancy, but not all out bleeding, its not a general most people have it, but a lot of people have all sorts of stuff happen!
anyway i hope you get a us or something ot help you figure it out soon! since it was a regular period, honestly id go by the first one, but i dont want you to get our hopes uop and be 2 weeks earlier than you just thought you were either..maybe you should go with the second one for now, and if youre farther along, to the timing of the first, then be pleasantly happy about being farther? LOL
