:headscratch: Hi all. I am new to this forum, and am trying to get started with CD'ing. I just bought some ABC Free detergent, and am wondering if anyone knows if it is safe for diapers. It says it is free of perfumes and dyes. I am having a hard time getting detergents as I live in an isolated small town and don't want to pay sky high shipping for detergent! If anyone can help me out, I appreciate it!

Thanks

I don't know about ABC Free, but here is a link to probably the most extensive detergent chart for cloth diapers on the internet: http://www.pinstripesandpolkadots.com/detergentchart.htm

There are some that you can (hopefully) find locally. My Save-On-Foods carries the Nature Clean Laundry Powder, which is a great detergent for diapers.

I'm not sure about ABC detergent, but Nature Clean is most likely to cause a lot of problems with the diapers because it acts more like a soap. It has a fatty soap type base you'll have less absorbent prefolds though and get lots of leaks and rashes.

My personal fave is Allens Naturally it's actually the only one I carry in my store.
I also find Country Save is a good one.

I just realized that this post was from back in may!
This forum really doesn't get much attention. :(
