I was really sick the first trimester, and didn't take them at all. My doc said it was okay.
Five healthy kids:goodvibes:

Try not to stress over it mama. I take 6 prenatals a day, and mostly I only remember to take 2 with my breakfast and I forget the rest of the day. As long as you're not living off Dr. Pepper and Snicker bars :giggle: I think your babe will be okay. :hugs:

I was so sick with #1 & #3 that I could barely keep water down.
My midwife told me it was more important to have folic acid before you become pregnant than to take a vitamin while pregnant, and low and behold, healthy great kids!

I know several people who's baby's have spina bifida and they didn't take prenatals when they were pregnant. So I take mine religiously when I'm not pregnant or newly pregnant (since that's when folic acid is the most important), and not nearly as OCD about it this far into my pregnancy, so I wouldn't worry about it if I were you.
I'm sure you're fine.

I'm one of those that keep forgetting...I think in 9 months of pregnancy I took about thirty days of pre-nats. Both boys are fine and healthy. Plus, they say it's far more important to get pre-natals BEFORE you're pregnant, because of the folic acid.

I think I took pre-natals for about a week before I couldn't tolerate them anymore, but I forced myself to take folic acid till first tri was over. Same thing with my now 2 yr old and he is perfectly healthy. Don't worry about it.

dont stress over it momma
although, prenats have lots of calcium (usually) they also have a ton of iron, which competes for absorption with calcium resulting in poor absorption of both... :banghead:
the idea behind them is nice but functionally they just dont do much, in fact if your not anemic they may have too high of a dose of iron to take on a regular basis
the best way to get your calcium would be food that is also low in protein (ie not dairy) if you are really concerned, take a separate calcium supplement right before bed (I would recommend a calcium citrate if you can find it)
I take this one (http://www.shop.com/+-a-liquid+calcium+citrate-p107409648-k36-st.shtml) It looks strange but tastes great, and it can also be added to things like baked goods
BTW I'm a nutritionist

My dh has spina bifida and a cleft lip and palate so I am on top of taking my prenatal, folic acid and my iron. I have a system down now, it'll be more odd to have baby and cut back ont he prenatal pill popping.
I am sure you'll be fine but in my own case I need to know I did all I could.

I never took a single one with DS1, and I rarely took them with DS2 until the past 3 weeks. I actually have a bit more energy now, not sure if it has anything to do with it.
I WAS drinking RRL tea (with alfalfa and nettles as well) and it made me feel great, but then I ran out :(
