We used Wide Horizons for Children (whfc.org) but I've heard wonderful things about All God's Children (allgodschildren.org) which is who we will use when we go for number 3! Wide Horizons was okay, I just think they've gotten to big and have less time for personal attention to their families.

I hope you don't mind a post from someone that hasn't actually went through this process. My father has though (my sisters, both from China are MUCH younger then me).

He said he would highly recommend http://www.asiadopt.org/ if you are thinking about adopting from China. This is who he got my older (6 year old) younger sibling through. She was an infant when they got her. My youngest sister (4 years old) was a waiting child and they put their name on several agencies list to find the child for them.

I know when DH and I were considering adoption for a while, we decided that we would go through the agency I mentioned above because we already know someone that went through there.

Good luck in your search!
Jennifer

There is a yahoo group for agency research. I would check there and use the archives to check up on agencies.

Good luck. BTW: we are with Dove and have loved them.

We have been VERY happy with Bethany Christian Services. We are adopting from China and have been taken care of very well.

If you are going with China, I HIGHLY recomment CCAI (Chinese Children Adoption Int'l (http://www.chinesechildren.org)). We used them for our adoption. They have great integrity, wonderful in China support, and are one of the quickest agencies when it comes to getting you to China after travel approval arrives. No hidden fees or surprises at all. They have a great rapport with China/CCAA and do a lot of charitable work for the children of China.

I would choose a country first, then look who has the best programs for that country. We've adopted via MAPS (Maine Adoption Placement Services) once, who I cannot recommend now that their new director has completely changed how they conduct business and what focus the agency has now. We adopted last time through AIAA (Americans for International Aid and Adoption), and I can absolutely recommend them, especially their Waiting Child program which they are so fiercely dedicated to.

We went thru Holt and highly recommend them! They work in many different countries! I called about a baby thru WHFC and they too sounded great to work with!! My friend went thru them Wide Horizons for Children (whfc.org). They also have many children on the rainbowkids website available.
