I had so much hair loss a couple months after DD came that I thought for sure I had leukemia or cancer! It was scary! And I'm so fanatic about things with my body. I always think something is wrong. And I developed a really dry, itchy, irritated scalp after awhile and have been doing all natural shampoos since. It's SO bothersome now. Is that a problem for other moms or do you think it's something different? I BF still, DD is 8 1/2 mos and not on many solids. I do admit, I don't drink as much water as I should and I should be eating a heck of a lot more. I'm down to a size 3 in charlotte russe jeans and those jeans are on the smaller size of jean sizing. And it's also the first time since I was 7 that I had hair so long (it's half way down my back) so maybe the extra weight is bad on my scalp...
Anyone know how to get rid of this itchy dry problem!!!???

I had dry itchy scalp after DS and I have it this time too. It starts pretty much as soon as I give birth and is just a matter of finding the right shampoo and waiting for my hormones to mellow out.

yes to the dandruff...wasn't sure it was related...but it's gone now

yes to both, the hair loss stopped after a few months, the dandruff went away on it's own but I can't remember when.

Yes I had both! I finally cut my hair really short so I couldn't put it in a pony tail. I felt like pulling it back all the time was making the hair loss worse, and since I've cut it I seem to finally be losing less. Ditto the pp who said to keep switching shampoos until something works. I'm hoping it will be over soon.....I feel like I can't possibly have any more hair to lose!

I lost SO much hair after DS1 was born! I had to clean out the drain after EVERY shower, and I had to de-hair the brushes on my vaccum after every run! I now have like 6 inch bangs from the hair growing back in. Same with the back by my baby hairs. I haven't lost any this time, but I've noticed my hair is getting greasier faster.
