What did you buy: 3 VBSN, 1 sugar plum night fitted,
How was the customer service: not great
Review of the product: The sugar plum night diaper is great. The VBSN look like seconds but were sold as first quality
Any additional comments: I ordered some VBSN diapers and 1 sugar plum night diaper. I asked for very specific thread color combinations and only those colors. Susan the owner, made the and mailed the package to me. Then I received an email stating that one diaper was a second quality diaper and that i could have a $5 credit for my next order. I emailed her back stating that I didnt want a second quality diaper and I would have appreciated the opportunity to just have a first quality and not a credit on my next order. I felt like that was forcing me to buy there again. Anyhow, when my diapers showed up, one VBSN was not the colors I specifically asked for. She told me to return the second quality diaper and the one with the wrong colors and she would remake them. I had to ship them at my expense.
When she remade them, this time she changed her soakers so now they were a trifold soaker and not the double layer. I was not even asked if I wanted that change. She just said she was changing how she makes the soakers, when I emailed to ask, after receiving the replacements. In addition, the trifold soaker was not even at all. I couldnt fold it in thirds properly what so ever. And the fleece colors didnt match. The soaker was topped with a dark red and the inner was a cherry red. I have no idea why this had happened. It looked so bad that it was an obvious second quality diaper.
I emailed Susan and told her of these issues. She emailed me back and said she would refund my money and I could keep the messed up diapers. And she said I was to never purchase from her again or she would instantly refund my money because she didnt want to do business with me. I was completely shocked. I never did anything wrong.
In fact, I told her that I really liked the sugar plum diaper and that is was beautiful.
Would you do business with them again? No
WAHM response (added 6/19/08 by Harmony96): I spent a lot of time remaking diapers
for her and was not able to get anything right in her eyes so I just
asked her not to purchase from me again due to the time consuming nature
all of the emails and the remakes took and I was under the impression
she had ordered VBSN diapers from another WAHM and was happier with
hers. The other Very Baby WAHM allowed for thread colors and I do not
and that was the biggest issue with the first diaper. She did not make
it clear that the diapers were for a boy and she wanted very specific
colors used that I did not have. So instead of asking me very
specifically whether I could do what she wanted she ordered I tried to
work with what was there and I could not fill her exact needs. She is a
very specific customer she returned 1 custom order diaper because of the
thread color and not because of the actual diaper it self. When the
second batch of diapers did not met her needs I completely refunded her
the cost of the diapers. These diapers were first quality and in all
honesty I have never had a consumer so picky about thread colors and
what not and I choose not to have this happen again. I took a loss on
this transaction and she ended up with 2 good VBSN diapers at the cost
of shipping. I am really not sure why she would even want to do
business with me again since I am not able to satisfy her? Asking her
not to purchase again from me is just good business. I really want to
sell to consumers that are satisfied with my work and not to someone who
is not. That is why I asked her to not purchase again from me.
As far as the first second I allowed her to return it and then she even
asked for further color changes that I of course tried to satisfy.
The first second was only due to uneven serge ring and once washed you
would not even be able tell it was a second. The second batch of
diapers were not Second quality and I am not sure why she is complaining
because she did get her money back and diapers at the cost of shipping.
I feel she was compensated for her trouble when I refunded the diapers
and told her to keep them.
As a Business Owner I have the right to refuse business. I do try to
satisfy my customers this happened during a very busy time where is was
buried under a huge pile of work and I really needed to move on and so I
have. I understand that she has the right to air her side and in this
situation I do not believe that anyone was at fault I just believe that
the communication was not the best from both sides. I learned a
valuable lesson here and when I am not sure I ask and not try to push
the work through.
