I was wondering if anyone did a UC and DID have prenatal care through a Doctor? I ask because I know a lot of Mama's dont do prenatal care becasue I know its about trusting your body:)

I'm planning an uc and using a mw for prenatal care. Uc is very much about doing what you feel is best for you and your family. For me I had a complicated first pg, perfectly normal birth and perfectly normal second pg and birth. I personally feel more comfortable having the reassurance that the pg is progressing well. I also feel in my case the blood work is necessary and I wanted at least one u/s to make me more comfortable that there is nothing wrong with the baby or placenta to make a hospital birth or mw attended hb necessary. Everything else I pretty much could do myself, but it also makes dh more comfortable with our uc to have the mw for prenatal care.

With dd I did have intermitten care, through 13 weeks w/an ob, then from 28weeks-39 weeks with mw's (who I hated). This time I'm not having any care unless I feel led to by God.

I wasn't going to, but as a kind of "compromise" with DH we had a MW from 22 weeks on- we only ended up having like 4 or 5 prenatals total though.
