ok i am set to deliver at memorial hermann at texas med center. however what little info i could find about the visitor policies suck...and the hospital lets just say I never found a person that didn't transfer me.
my last hospital experience was bad. My MIL never left and wouldn't leave..and my nephew is always sick and both my BIL and SIL will straight up lie to you and say he isn't sick (like the time he had hand foot mouth but i digress).

does anyone know the visiting policy? and can you say who can come? is there a limit to people at a time? any info would be helpful..
TIA

I don't know if this helps at all but after you deliver you do not HAVE to stay at the hospital. I have had several friends check out with their babies several hours after their birth to go and rest at home where they felt more comfortable.

I know for me I got a lot more sleep after my home birth than I did with baby #1 in the hospital. Those nurses always checking in drove me nuts.

Just don't tell anyone, I mean friends and Family, that you will be home.

well unfortunately i do have to be at the hospital. I have a clotting disorder and my risks for a clot go way up; plus I will be needing blood..so not an option for me. :goodvibes:

I delivered at Memorial Hermann in The Woodlands and can share with you my experience. When the flood of visitors got to be too much they put a sign on my door that read "mother and baby resting-do not disturb!" That really seemed to help. In my experience it was only family coming to visit. Just talk to your nurses and share your concerns. (Maybe pack your own sign if you need to...)

nurses are your best defense!! ;} they can keep visitors at bay, just give them the heads up!! ;)

i so feel where you are coming from. i want to go home as soon as I can as I have 2 other children that I will be missing. :(

good luck!

I delivered at MH-Northwest and the visitor policy was only siblings. That said, all 3 of my nieces came in to visit... but they weren't sick. :) I'd tell your nurses ahead of time that you want visitation restricted.

Worst case - ask/tell them to leave and blame it on medication later! ;)

i hope the policy at the med center is the same. These people will barrage through any signs if they see my husband; they'll push through right behind them. I don't mind them so much coming I just don't want them there for long. they overstay their welcome and they are loud and obnoxious.
