Ok, so I still haven't met anyone irl who uses cloth! Is anyone interested in a get together? I live in Suffolk county near Huntington but we can see where everyone else is and plan accordingly.

Back when my DD was in diapers I had a nice stash now for poor DS its all stuff thats either falling apart from hers or cheap factory made dipes or Mommy made:lostit:

I had to get rid of some things. I took the dipes outside to take pictures this weekend and dh was like "are those the ones you are keeping or selling?". I guess that means i have way too many diapers. I also got into the habit of trying EVERYTHING. I am sticking to mostly GMs and Mutts for fitteds and prestons and blue berry pockets (for dh and going out).
I think it would be great to get together! Do you make your own dipes?

I made all of my DS newborns, smalls and medium fitteds But now he fits into like 2 of them so I am not really using many fitteds.. I do have 8 MEOS that hes actually wearing today with some wool
I crochet so he has some longies and shorties.
I mainly use BG, Hautes and FB right now since thats what we have and fits:thumbsup:
Oh and pfs too!
Id love to meet up! we need to pick a place , day...ect...

I'm a SAHM too so any day really. We are going upstate (way upstate) for next week but will return on the 7th. We can get together then if you like. Any ideas where to meet up?
My kids are 3 and 16 months. I'm 32! Ack!
We use pockets only for going out - prestons pants, fuzzibunz, BG and blueberry. I use only fitteds and wool at home. :goodvibes:
oh, and if you are going to be in Target, pick me up a Wii Fit if you see it there :D I always miss them!

I just lost baby #3 last month so we are going to TTC next cycle:thumbsup:
My DD is starting camp the 2nd week of july for a week 9-12 so anytime in the afternoon is good for us :thumbsup:

Hello ladies, I am new to cloth diapering (as in, I started two days ago) and am in Nassau County- Long Beach to be exact. I don't know anyone who cloth diapers and all my friends think I am nuts! I'm in Queens, but go to LI often.
I didn't like buying online at first either. So we mainly started with Gdiapers from Whole Foods, in oh.......starts with a M, Manhasset maybe? OR Masapequa, can't remember which it was. lol haha
Any way, for cheap and not liking S&H, I've found Dappis really cheap and if you buy more then 100 dollars worth of stuff S&H is free, other wise a flat rate of 5.95 that's at babybestbuy. Also BabyBungalow free for S&H and they have a ton of stuff I always need! lol So I can usually get 100 dollars worth easily from them.
Any way, would love to meet up. I've only met one other CDer in person and that was at the Whole Foods mentioned above, but she had sold all her CDs by the time I met her there, she was wearing her toddler and we got into a conversation about her pouch, etc. lol Any way, I wish I would of met her earlier on cause she used Wonderoos (which I LOVE), but she had the REAL ones, and not the China knock off ones, that are worthless, but the only thing available any more. :(

I have 2 kiddos... Griffin is 4 (no diapers there!!) and Kiley is 2 months old. I just recently converted to cloth, and I can't believe how obsessed I've become! I never thought diapers could be exciting! haha! Hopefully I feel the same way in a few months!

so glad to see this forum!! I live in Nassau County (south shore) and I cloth diapered both my kids. My son is still in cloth, daughter is done with diapers. I also own an online cloth diaper/natural parenting store. And believe it or not, there are a lot of us on LI! I get calls each week from moms looking for cloth diapers on LI. I wish I could afford to open a brick and mortar store locally. Would love to get to know other like-minded mamas.

I'm expecting my second boy in March and would like to cloth diaper from day 1. I started cloth with DS when he was about 3 1/2 months. He was in daycare part-time and I didn't have a large stash, so he was in cloth part-time. I was too intimidated by prefolds and a wiggly baby and I didn't like any of the fitteds I tried, so I stuck with pockets (Fuzzi Bunz and bumGenius). He stuck with those until he started PL around 14 months and I needed something easier to pull-up.
Since I'm starting with a newborn this time, I'm giving prefolds another shot. I'm also going to try some wool and am going to try to stay away from synthetics. I also found out that daycare will take cloth diapers, which is great.
I've already been lurking quite a bit, but I wanted to introduce myself!

i am in suffolk county - east setauket, to be exact. i work part time and have my nearly 16 month old son in daycare in port jefferson. of the 3 daycares we interviewed, we ended up settling on the one who would not do cloth diapers. i have him in cloth at home, but the disposables-usage is bugging me. we like the daycare on most other fronts, but i would like to attempt to win them over to trying cloth with my son. anyone else in the area use daycare who will support CD? my daycare claims that it's against NY state law (i think they mean keeping the soiled diapers around somehow violates some law), but i would love to win them over with examples of accredited institutions in the area who will do it. can anyone help by giving me some counterexamples? thanks!

Hi,
I know it's been a while since you posted this little. I'm in the Ronkonkoma area. My daughter attends daycare at Stony Brook University, which is fully accredited. They do CD as long as it's 'as easy as disposables' and you bring enough wetbags. We use pockets and it works out great.
Hope you can find a daycare that will work with you. Our first daycare provider wasnt willing to CD and it really irked me.
