I'm still on maternity leave for another week before returning to my job as a sheriff dispatcher. Anyway I was working part time before DS and my boss just called to ask if I wanted to go to full time as another dispatcher just put in their notice. It's up in the air if I'll do it. I need to talk to DH about it. My mom will be watching DS when both of us are working so no trouble there. I'm EBF right now again not a big deal cause he will take a bottle, I can pump or even feed him at work. The extra money would be nice, but it's not that important. In the long run it may be nice cause we are hoping in a few years I'll be able to stop working, so this would get bills paid sooner and make it happen sooner. I just don't know what to do. :dramatic: Help? Give me some opinions.
Update****** so, I'm going to work 32 hrs a week instead od 24 just one extra day with the understanding I can cut back at any time.

Personally I LOVE working. It keeps be balanced and sane. Plus, the money is good.
Maybe make a pro/con list on working and see how you feel.

I love working too and am actually wondering how I'll not go nuts staying home for maternity leave (I have a flexible schedule though, am my own boss, and work less than 40 hrs/wk now). However, when I went back to work full-time after DS was born (4 yrs. ago), I got really depressed and stressed out. If you start FT, could you go back to PT if you feel the need? I think you should just listen to your heart--no matter what it says. Good luck!

:hugs: Difficult decision. Maybe you can accept the FT offer on a trial basis to see how you handle working FT or if you prefer PT
Good Luck!

I'd definitely look into that. Either way, while you're full time, they can train a new PT or per diem person. Then, if you decide you no longer want to work full time, that person can step up.

Yeah, I'm going to see if I can do it on a trial basis. And she is already putting an add in the paper for a part time person. But that will probably take months. The money would be nice but missing time with DS  but since I have to work anyway I may as well make it worth my while and have money left over. So, we'll see, she said I could take my time to decide.

that is a tough call
Would your family member be willing to watch your child if the hours are more?
The $$ is nice, if your child care costs are low. I'd think you'd have to be very strict with a budget if the purpose is to pay off/lower bills. KWIM?
