Does anyone know if you can try for a VBAC after two c/s with no prior vaginal deliveries?
DS was born by emergency c/s because I dilated from 7-10cm so quickly that his heart rate dropped to 50 and they had to get him out fast. They told me later that they also suspected that the placenta was starting to separate.
I tried for a VBAC with DD, but her head pinched the cervix and it couldn't dilate beyond 9cm, so I had another c/s and again there was some concern about the placenta separating.
So...we're talking about baby number 3 and I'm wondering if I should just accept a scheduled c/s considering my history, or if there is any chance I might be able to do a VBAC?

I have had 3 C-sections. One was an emergency, the other 2 planned. I wonder if you would be able to find a midwife who would be willing to attempt a VBAC given the medical history.
It's worth doing the research if you're really committed to VBAC.
The concern of course is the risk of placental abruption or uterine tear. The risk of uterine tear increase with each c-section.
Be careful out there!

A mommy in my local playgroup did it. I was so envious because I had my 3rd a few months before and I was told it wasn't an option. And she was determined and was the first one ever at that hospital! =]

My biggest concern is that placental abruption was already a concern with my first two and I know VBAC can increase that risk!

i had a VBA2C in March of 2007 and am planning another next January  you may not find a Dr to deliver you so you should check into Midwives. since you are not pg yet you have plenty of time to do your research. also, get your operative reports from both c-sections. good luck!!!

I talked to our local birth services today and they were really supportive!
Like "sure, no problem" as if it were a normal thing!
The midwife that did my VBAC attempt was NOT helpful, so I'm going to ask around for others.
Also, I'm REALLY thinking about a doula next time...any thoughts?
I already have both surgical reports...I'm going to be armed this time...LOL!

I have had 2 C/S and I have a Midwife who will be delivering my next child and actually after seeing the OB today she said I could have a VBA2C! Shocking because many OBs wont even touch you!
Anyway it is very safe, do some research and start with www.vbac.com & Ican!
The concern of course is the risk of placental abruption or uterine tear. The risk of uterine tear increase with each c-section.
Be careful out there!
It is VERY VERY slightly higher, very slightly as in if you have one C/S compared to 3 C/S

Update!
No doctor in town will touch me, so my only choice would be a homebirth and I'd have to deceive my OB to think I want a c/s to get treatment!
I'm not keen on deceiving my OB and I'm pretty high strung, so I'm not sure about the home birth.
So I called birth services back and in 24 hours they found out that the medical center in the state capitol (45 min away) would take me and NOT even consider me high risk!!!!!
I have an appointment in 3 weeks!

That's great news.
You should keep up with your research as well. As far as the doula goes, I would definitely recommend one. Interview as many as you can and get a feel of how you feel when you're around them and vice versa. You can tell if you're comfortable being with someone and if they are "very" supportive of you. I wish I had hired one with my first born b/c I KNOW in my heart that if I did have a doula, I would not have had a C/S.
Let us know how it went for you.

thanks raspberry!
the more I think about my last delivery the more I, too, realize that if I'd had a doula things probably would have been totally different!
Actually, the woman at the birth center that has helped so much is a doula, so when the time comes, I already know who I'm calling! :giggle2:
