My sister just gave me notice that she is quitting at the end of the summer. she's burned out. I can't believe my kiddos won't be with family anymore. I only work three days, but they are 10 hour days. I don't even know where to start! I want someone with similar values, but how do you know people are really going to love your children, not just look at it as another job??? I am in tears constantly! Help!

I get almost all of my daycare kids from word of mouth.
I think you should start asking your friends. Let people know you are looking and see if you get any referrals.
Watch the parks on your days off. Are there any providers there that you seem to have a connection with?
In Arizona, we have a provider resource and referral. You can call them, and they will do the footwork for you. They can even do the calling in advance to see if you have openings for this particular child, and then they give you the list of providers with openings. That way it saves you the mundane task of calling and saying "do you have any openings?" before you can even decide if they are a good fit for your family.
