DS broke out in an awful rash yesterday and isn't feeling well.

Then about 3:00 A.M. I woke up to my DD screaming. I went into her room and realized she had tried to crawl out of her toddler bed and had fallen. Instead of going out the open part of the bed she had tried to crawl over the small bed rail that goes about halfway down the bed.

When she fell she faceplanted into the wooden toy organizer. There was blood everywhere and I ran her into the living room and started checking her over. She broke the bottoms of her two front teeth completely off.

I am SO upset! We have an appt with a pediatric dentist at 4:15!!! That was the earliest they could get her in.

She doesn't want her sippy cup at all and she is just wanting to nurse constantly. Well nursing her is incredibly painful because the bottoms of her teeth are so jagged.

If you wouldn't mind send us some good luck, good vibes, a little prayer for the dental appointment.

Thank you!

UPDATE: Okay I am SO not thrilled right now. I decided to see if I could find a second pediatric dentist who might be able to get us in earlier. I did find one and took her in at 11:00. They did x-rays and checked her teeth. The dentist said that she had bruised the roots of the teeth pretty badly and had broken them. She said they were probably going to become discolored  ! She also said that they would probably end up with cavities in them no matter how well I brush. Well then she said that they weren't going to do ANYTHING for the teeth. That the breaks were not significant enough to do anything until A: they get cavities B: they become infected....OMG

I'm really glad I didn't cancel the 4:15 appt with the other dentist. We will be going in for a second opinion.

Oh and poor DD keeps saying "Teeth OUCH! Teeth hurt mommy." and pointing to her teeth.

:hugs: So sorry! Your poor DD! We've been there with the broken teeth, it's tough on everyone. Good luck at the dentist (call back a little later, maybe they can get you in sooner?)

So sorry mama. My DD had her front teeth broken by our baby gate. IT was scary.

Good luck and let us know how it goes. :hugs:

We had a bad rash episode this year too and it ended up being hives. Even after the blod test they didnt show anything for allergies so we dont know where it came from. I'm so sorry about your dd poor baby girl! :hugs:

Oh no! Sending good luck vibes your way.

I'm surprised that the dentist didn't have any "emergency" appointment spots open. I can't believe you have to wait until 4:15 to get her in.

Please keep us posted on your LOs. :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:

How old is she?
It's not ideal, but you could always pull them early in hopes of encouraging the adult teeth in coming in early.
I'm sorry she's hurting. :hugs:

Wow, I'm glad you kept your second appointment with the original dentist. Sounds like that would be ridiculous to sit around and wait for the teeth to get cavities or get infected before treating them. If they are hurting your daughter, then something needs to be done. Good luck with the next appointment and please keep us posted. :goodvibes:

Thank you both. She is only 20 months old. She also still nurses. When I let the Dentist know that this was not only a pain issue for her but that it could make nursing very difficult and uncomfortable for both of us I was told I should wean. :banghead:

I'll let you know what we find out after the next appointment.

When my DD broke her top teeth at 24 months, they pulled them. She had fractured them horizontally. Def. get a second opinion. Those broken teeth can hurt and have horrible hot/cold sensitivity.

Let us know what the second Dentist says.

good luck mama. :hugs:

That sucks! I'm sorry!! :hugs::hugs: and good luck with the second opinion! At least now you know not to take her back to the first dentist! And, did you get the x-rays from the first dentist? Maybe that way the second dentist doesn't have to re-do them and it could save you some $$ and save your LO the extra exposure!!
