NoVahomebirth@yahoogroups.com is a great place to go and learn more. There is a file with midwives' info. I had Joey Pascerella attend my 3rd birth, and she is with Sacred Journey Midwifery.
Congrats on your new LO! Austin

I think I just might have found a midwife, we're going to do a consultation sometime this month. She has a web site, www.tlcbirth.com

I can recommend Peggy Franklin who was my midwife. She was great and I hope she is still around when I have number two. You can PM me if you want her info.

I birthed twice with BirthCare, once at the center and once at home. Both were great experiences.

I used the Loudoun Community Midwives, who are at Loudoun Hospital, so if you are near there and looking for a midwife attended hospital birth, they are great. We are planning on using them again this time around!

OP already had her baby :), but I second the recommendation for the Loudoun Community Midwives. I also used the for my last baby and loved them! I was able to get out of the hospital at exactly 24 hours (I HATE being in the hossy more than 18!), so that made me happy. They are all really nice, especially Margie and Paula!

hey you!!
I did go with the Loudoun Community Midwives and they were great, I don't ever want to deliver with a OB again :giggle: Margie & Anne were at my birth and they got me through my first all natural labor and birth! :lostit:

Marilee Pinkleton is wonderful. She comes to you for all the visits!!! It took me 16 hours of labor at home, all natural and she was great! www.tlcbirth.com

Just wanted to also reccommend Loudoun Community Midwives! Margie and Anne also attended my 20 hour labor and were wonderful. I couldn't have asked for a better experience. I personally felt more comfortable in a hospital, and switching to the midwives at 33 weeks was the best decision I made in my pregnancy! I drove 40 minutes to get to each appointment and to the hospital - but totally worth it!
