I am, and am working myself towards feeling ok about it, but was wondering if anyone else on this board was in the same boat. DD was an unplanned C sec after full natural drug-free labor and two hours of pushing. She was acynclitic and posterior and refused to move downward. She was too high for turning, too high for vacuum, too high for forceps....

I'm hoping for a vbac this time, I think. LOL. But there is a LOT to process and think about.

Hoping for a V2BAC. First meeting with midwives tomorrow. Not sure if they'll let me try?

Andrew was a c/s after 26 hours of labor after water broke. I was induced and only dilated to 3 cm. He was 6.1. I was +1, but for some reason, wouldn't progress. They talked me out of a VBAC with Lucas because he had a very large head. Ended up he had external hydrocephalus. I'm certain he wouldn't have fit. Anyway, assuming this baby has an average size head, I would love to try. The recovery from the c/s sucks.

Yep! I am having a HVBA2C! We already met with Midwives and decided on a pair we liked and I filled all the paperwork out and all that good stuff. In a few days we meet again to talk about how much we can pay for it and payment plans!

I also met with my OB who said I had to have a C/S again until I hit her with some facts and she is open to a VBA2C too! Though I am going with the Homebirth.

I am very excited as is my Hubby and family!

After 2.5yrs of research I know it is what is best for my family, me and the new bean!

at first, I was not sure how to face down my baggage from the first Csec... but the more I read and the more my doc spouts the glory of repeat C, the more I am in support of a VBAC. I mean, the doc offered me a C sec before we even had an official first visit AND he couldn't even remember how far into labor I made it before the C sec.:rotten:

It made me really want to do my research and make my OWN decision.

I have been thinking about this for a while. I had an unplanned C/S after 2-3 hours of pushing. DD was just too big to come out and she turned on her side at the last bit and my Dr. couldn't get her hand in to turn her back around.

I would love to have a VBAC... I want to have the Vaginal Birth Experience... but I struggle because if DD was too big, who's to say that this baby will be small enough, you know?

Yah, DD didn't ever move lower than the top position, so even tho I dilated fine, I have deep-seated doubts of my ability to deliver. It sucks.

My doc offered it to me right away. Wanted to make sure I considered all my options. I'm hesitate because my first was big (10.9) and breech (butt down, no turning). I can't see where this one will be any smaller. Obviously it's way early to make a decision so she wants me to think about it and talk more at later appointments. I LOVE my doc!

Sounds to me like you need to shop around for a new doc or a midwife. If you have someone who is not supportive, I think you are setting yourself up to fail. Books I recommend include "The Thinking Woman's Guide to a Better Birth" by Henci Goer, "Ina May's Guide to Childbirth" by Ina May Gaskin and "Natural Childbirth after Cesarean" though I cannot remember the author of that one. I have been blessed with an OB whose wife had a VBAC with their second and his partner's wife had 4 natural deliveries. Both are completely supportive and though this baby is running on the big side by their estimation, they say my pelvis can completely handle it. I would also recommend hiring a doula for support as well. If you decide this is what you want, don't allow yourself to be bullied into another section. My LO is due in less than 2 weeks and I plan to be able to post a successful VBAC story on DS to help encourage others who may need it!

I have been wondering about looking into a new doc. This one was fantastic the first time around, totally in support of natural delivery in any position... but it seems lately that he's been less than spectacular. I don't connect with him as well as I want to. He's still DD's ped, too, and our family's reg doc, so changing will be awkward, but doable.

I have read some of those books, time to reread! (If I can manage to stay awake long enough to read at night!

And best of everything with your VBAC! Can't wait to read your story!

Me! I am all set for a vbac, cleared with my doc last time I was pregnant (mc). So hopefully, this time we are set to go. I am so glad I found a doc ok with that because I DO NOT want another C.
