After your LO first went in the potty...

...how long until they completely PL'd??

I ask because my dd went "pee-pee in the potty!!" tonight for the very first time!! She's 18 months. About a month or two ago, she started showing a real interest in me going to the bathroom - trying to say potty and always wanting to be in there with me. So we got her a potty. She almost always seemed to pee on the floor right before getting in the tub, so right before her bath, we've been encouraging her to sit on the potty - SHE LOVES IT! She wants to go see the potty all day long :) Well tonight, she sat on it and went!

I'm wondering...it could have been a fluke, but then again, she seemed SO proud when we said "YAY!!!!!!!" when she went.

So after your LO first went in the potty, how long until they were PL'd?

let's see...i think he started showing interest, occasionally going in the potty, or just sitting on his little potty, at about 18 months. he is now 3 years and 1 month, and he is just recently done with diapers - even at night. i hear that girls are much easier to pl, though (don't know if it's true, because i don't have a girl!). my friend's little girl was 26 months when she went potty full time.

I started putting my 1st dd on the potty when she started playing in it at 12m and by 2 years she was completely out of diapers, even at night. I've done the same thing with my 2nd dd (18 months) and she went for the first time last week. I put her on before bedtime and she went! i was so excited and so was she! so the next night before bed i put her on the potty again and she went again! then the 3rd day the potty stayed dry, but on the 4th day she went #1 and #2 in the potty then the 5th day she only did #2 and now we have gone 2 days with a dry potty. we aren't really pushing it but she will come to us and say "poop" or "peeeeeee" lol so we sit her on it then and everytime we change her diaper we sit her on it. she loves it and I think she will take to it in her own time!

Well my dd first used the potty at about 18 months and im not sure if she is day trained yet or not but the past 2 days she has had no pee accidents and we only used diapers at bed time. i Would not push it but just follow her cues.
