First i am estimated at 33wks but have been measuring 3wks ahead since 28wks, so maybe 36wks.
for the past few nights i have not gotten any sleep; i am tossing and turning with extreme pain down in my pelvic area. Numbness in the legs and nausea. I am drinking loads of water and am trying to eat when i don't feel sick. I am not having diarrhea, and i think i have lost some of my plug; and have had a HIGH increase in discharge. my lower back has been hurting really really bad. i have also been feeling alot of aches all over my stomach and especially in my lower belly. i also have aside from feeling miserable, weird moments of where i feel drugged; or in slow motion; if that makes since. He is moving a lot down in my pelvic region. I can feel his head way down there; on the outside and it as if he is clawing my pelvic bone apart...ouch! He has always had his normal times of high activity, but now it's as if he was on my toddler's schedule. You know take a hour nap in the morning and then is up ALL day long. Except this one isn't allowing me to sleep at night either! i have kept fluids in my body but havent eaten anything and havent really had the desire.
I don't know how to check for dialation so if anyone would like to explain; i would be up for that.
I am funneling up where the baby is and my cervical length as of Monday was 2.47cm.

hmmm, i've been having the exact same things for 3-4 weeks now, i'm almost 36 weeks, so started about the same time. My midwife said its just good signs my body is getting ready for labor. Its painful and tiring but exciting to know things are moving along.

Well, I have to say that honestly, I agree with the other posters here, it does sound like your body is just getting ready. But with both of my pregnancies, I started having cervical changes earlier than my OBs liked & I went on bedrest with both pregnancies. With DS it (cervical changes) was @ 23 weeks, I carried him to 37 weeks, born 8lb & healthy as could be. W my twins, it was at 26 weeks & bedrest began @28 wks. I carried them to 34 weeks, born at 5lb 10oz & 5lb 12 oz, both very healthy. Bedrest & hospitalization dominated the latter half of both of my pregnancies. I think that has a lot to do w being under the care of an OB as opposed to a midwife, jmo. So, I personally wouldn't worry too much about it, stay hydrated, rest often & enjoy the remainder of your pregnancy. I wish that is what I had done.
And BTW, I thought I was further along in my pregnancies than they ever said, w DS I thought they were about 2 weeks off, same with my twins. So you may be further along than 33 weeks. They told me DS would be about 5 lbs at birth, he was 8lb. They told me the girls would be about 4 lbs each, they were almost 6. Every pediatrician (5 so far) has agreed w me that all of my babies were full term & the EDDs were wrong. HTH & GL

yep i'm currently on bedrest since 24wks and i told my ob that i was getting of the terb pump early; because my cervical length was shortening more on it then off.:headscratch:
I went about 6wks with my cervix going back up to 4.87 with no funneling(off pump) back down to 2.47 with funneling and now LOTS of body changes. I am REALLY low and i can't imagine being this low and only being 33wks.
They were wrong with their date on ds#1 too.
here is a side step question:
How can i funnel and length shorten, but still not dialate? I asked my doc and she just ho-humed around the question.:banghead:

The funneling and thinning out of your cervix is effacing. Effacing and dialating are two different things. Take a soda can for example. Its a tall cylinder like your cervix. If you step on a soda can it becomes short in the length but the diameter of the can is still the same.
