I was just wondering is there any place in Canada that you can trade in your plastic bottles for cash?

the only places I ever knew about was the "return it depot", which had various locations in the lower mainland, don't know about the rest of bc or canada?

I've seen machines at the grocery stores in Quebec - not sure if they only take cans, or if plastic bottles are included.

I wish all of Canada did this for cans and plastic bottles. PPl would think twice about littering.

Don't they have bottle depots everywhere? I just assumed that was the case. Heck here there are even liquor stores that take them back. We have them every few blocks around here. Maybe it is just an Alberta thing... we are talking about water/juice bottles and pop cans right?? Not baby bottles? Just wanted to check to be sure.

Every little town should have a bottle depot. Sometimes they are in the back of a gas station. try your phone book and see what they say about depots

Seriously, I believe they are everywhere, it is my understanding from the pamphlets available at my bottle depot that it is a government run/subsidized program. I came from a town of around 500 people and I can't remember there ever not being a bottle depot there.

Do you mean baby bottles with BPA? Or used beverage containers, like coke bottles?

Well, apparently they take them EVERYWHERE in Alberta but you will be surprised to know that the rest of the country isn't nearly as progressive. I live near my Province's capital city and I've never even heard of this. It's either recycle bin, trash or litter for all your bottles. :yuck:
