I have been TTC for over a year now. I have been on Clomid for 7 of those cycles. I can't take Metformin b/c it makes me sick on my belly. I used Metformin and Clomid to concieve DS back in Feb of 2006. I have taken 11 months of fertility meds for him. My doc just put me on Avandia for my PCOS. I was wondering if anyone is or has been on this in order to concieve? If so how well did it work? Did you gain a good bit of weight on the med.? Any success stories out there?

Goodluck mama!I'm wishing you tons of baby dust as well.
I'm on Actos(as well as Metformin)--while not Avandia,it's essentially the same rx--just different name. It's in the same class of drugs.
I take these for my insulin resistance--and happily learned by complete and utter shock that I o and concieve on this rx regime! I've been on this combo since Jan04--well not on Actos when pg or nursing.
I also have PCOS was dxed in 2004.These meds have been great for me--I can cycle now without the help of Provera now.BCPS were never an option for me--I don't tolerate them well --plus we want to ttc.

I read somewhere that they are more or less the same( Avandia and Actos). I think you can still take Avandia while preggers but I might be wrong. I thank you momma for wishing me baby dust. We REALLY want another LO badly, in fact we would love to have twins. :lostit:
