How many still haven't turned. My kids are always so slow on this one.
Just wondering what the norm is?

well, I'm in my 34th week and mine is head down and in position for birth..which I'm happy about. I'm doing a home birth and I was worried about her not turning. Mine has been down from about the 28th week...give or take.
Once they hit a certain size they can't turn..there isn't enough room. Although mine feels like she's trying..:giggle2:
Mine is kicking my ribs and her head is pushing through my cervex...at least thats how it feels.
I'm ready for her to be ready...if she keeps moving like this...she's gonna cause my labor. I told my dh and midwife that once I hit week 38...i'm gonna do what ever I can to get my labor started. :lostit:

My DD never turned and was born breech vaginally.I had an external version done at 37 wks, but it didn't work. If its not your first babe, then see how they feel about a breech delivery...ya never know. You can also do all the tricks, ie. positions, hot/cold packs, chiropractor, etc.

I had no idea they could do that...how does that work? Is it dangerous?

Mine is breech, which is weird because it was head down a couple of weeks ago. My midwives told me to go to a chiropractor that does the Webster method and to do handstands in a swimming pool.
I know what you mean about the Riverdancing on the the cervix. I thought I was going into labor it was stepping on me so hard!

My daughter was breech from when the midwife could first feel her. We did everything: Websters, moxabustion (we named it the smokin' toe treatment), yoga, accupunture and then finally an ECV. I was so scared and totally opposed to a c-section but nothing worked and I was even more scared of a vaginal breech. She was delivered via c-section and we couldn't have been happier. The whole experience was awesome and most importantly she was born healthy and happy. It's better to prepare yourself for this possibility - it will make the whole experience much easier when the time comes.

Our baby just turned at 32/33 wks. Previously, she was using my bladder as a trampoline~I feel your pain! Ditto pp, I am terrified of having a c-section, so I am so happy she's headed in the right direction  I hope your little guy turns for you soon! :goodvibes:

this baby is my first one who's stubborn about her position!! She was transverse, then her head was down.. now even the mw can't tell where she is exactly.. i'm getting an u/s.. I'm a little worried though that her head wasn't down.. and now for the first time in weeks she's not on my bladder.. (although I'd rather have her on my bladder than have a c section..)
I am 35 weeks..

really breech babies are no big deal. they can be delivered naturally and without any problems as long as the birth attendents know not to do anything! No pulling on the baby and if there is a need to put a finger in the babies mouth to tilt the head. Have you read the book " emergency childbirth"? there is a section on breech and what to do. If you are worried I would suggest reading it, just so you know what's going on!

Mine is vertex which is always a concern for me because my first was breech when she was born.
Since then I've learned a lot and would recommend spinningbabies.com for anyone that wants some help with encouraging vertex positioning and also for optimal positioning even if your baby is already vertex.
I wouldn't worry too much at 32 or even 34 weeks but by 36 weeks I'd encourage vertex positioning through accupuncture, chiropractic, homeopathy , and moxibustion as well as the exercises on spinningbabies.com

I am 35 weeks and baby is transverse. I wish baby would turn already because it is not comfortable. Not that any position is really comfortable at this point, but... Hopefully this child will cooperate with me soon!

My daughter was breech..right up until the morning of my scheduled c-section, THEN she decided to flip into the correct birthing position!

We just sched. a c section for 39 weeks. He is getting big (diabetes) and she isn't confident that by 4 weeks from now he will have the room to move.
now he may surprise me, but my intuition tells me there is a reason he is where he is and he needs to stay there. IDK. I had two successful vbacs after an em C w/ my first and I can't say I am not disappointed if this is what it has to be, but first and foremost I want a healthy boy.
(but man c section recovery sucks)

My son was breech until 33 weeks. No one in my area was willing to do a vaginal breech birth on a "unproven" pelvis. Not that they are willing to really do them on a proven either. Some home birth midwives will but I could not afford the out-of-pocket expenses (home birth is illegal here), plus it did make me a bit nervous to do it at home, being a first time mama and a NICU nurse.
I was scared of C-sections too (and epidurals, etc.) Per my midwife, I went to the chiropractor (awesome lady--was published and had a 98% success rate at turning breechs) and she did the Webster technique every other day for 3 consectutive appts. And it worked! Amazing!! Then at 36 weeks, he turned back breech:banghead: So back to the chiropractor and repeat x3 days. And he did turn again!! Had a great vaginal waterbirth at 39+6 weeks. And he was pretty good sized at 8lb 5oz. Apparently I have a wonky pelvis.
This time, baby is head down and has been since 29 weeks...so who knows!!:giggle2:
I think babies will get in the most comfortable position available to them and sometimes you have to adjust their environments to gently encourage them into a favorable position. Good luck!!

I'm at 36 weeks now and the baby is still breech  . I had two sessions with a proven Webster certified chiropractor and nothing has happened (my back feels great, though!).
I know that it still might turn, but I am so worried that I won't be able to birth naturally. My midwives might do a breech vaginal delivery but I am nervous about that too. Arg!
Well, tomorrow I am going to try handstands in the pool.
