This Friday my MW is coming to my house for my 36 week appt. I cannot seem to get motivated to pick up around here. I wanted it to be spotless, but I don't think it's gonna happen. Anytime, I am on my feet a lot or do some heavy housecleaning my sciatica kills me. I mean I can barely pick myself up to stand or walk. Also, DH started a MAJOR drywalling/mudding/taping project in the family room and it has been going on for months. This project alone stops me from cleaning, because it stresses me out to look at this room and know there is nothing I can do to fix it. UGH! Anyway, anyone else have a home visit coming soon? How is your house? What are you doing to get it cleaned? I may have to enlist my mom's help.

UPDATE: Our visit didn't happen. She got a call from a client in labor. I was really looking forward to this today. Oh well!

ETA: Well, my MW came over for a home visit on Monday. We went over my birth plan and she talked to DH to see if understood his role. Then she checked out our supplies and we are pretty much good to go, except she recommended I buy more chux pads. I think I can get more at Walgreens. I did decide to do the GBS test and she checked me out. I think that's the lowest my bp has ever been. I think it's because I was so comfy being at home on the couch. Anyway, it's always relatively low. I'm measuring 33.5cm even though I am 36 weeks almost 37, but she didn't seem too concerned. I did tell her that is not the norm for me. I was a couple of weeks ahead with both DSs.

Definately ask your mom to help you! That's what mom's are for:) My mom lives 3000 miles away from me right now, but she's coming out soon to be here for the birth. She keeps telling me, "Don't clean anything, I will do it." She's so sweet! We have to have a hospital birth, my doc wouldn't hear of a home birth for the first one, but hopefully next time! I'm sorry you're in such pain, I had a friend with the same problem, and I know she was miserable towards the end as well. Good luck w/ the housekeeping, but keep in mind that your midwife probably doesn't care if your house is not spotless. Just sweep the floors and clean up the kitchen, that always makes my house look clean:)

Hi Mama,

Mine is coming next Saturday...My house is clean and organized, but I have 12-15 girls staying with me, starting this Wednesday. Our church is doing a local missionary trip...so i'll have all these girls here until Saturday. After they leave I have to clean and do some grocery shopping...that oughta be fun.

I'm not worried about the visit. I wouldn't be worried. They just want to see where you live and this way they can know where everything is and how you want it to go once in labor. I know my mw could care less.

I should be having mine within the next week or so :) I *try* to keep my apartment clean, though with such little space its not all that hard. All the birth supplies are ready and organized in our room, I even rearranged our room (I directed, DH actually "did" it :giggle: ) . We just need to do the grocery shopping to stock up on stuff. I cleaned really well not too long ago so now I just try and keep it that way. Try telling that to a 15 month old and a husband :banghead: I really think she will understand if your house isn't spotless, who knows, maybe you will wake up one day and feel you just have to clean everything and it will all get done anyway  I would DEFINITELY get your mom to help, I wish my mom was here to help me. I would never have to do anything
