I burned out the motor on our old blender this morning making baby food. That means that I get to buy a new blender!! Any suggestions both for baby food and smoothies...(it can't be too small, since I only make baby food once every couple of weeks...)
TIA!

Vita Mix pricey but worth it.

:whoa: that is more than pricey imo! I have the Cuisinart smart power blender/food processor and like it a lot. I don't use it to make baby food but it makes a great smoothie!

VitaMix is amazing blender, you can put whole grains in it and get flour to bake breads, it will puree whole fruits and veggies..amazing It's the same blender that Jamba Juice uses.

I have a Kitichenaid, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!! I siffered with a cheap blender for years and I finally decided to go all out. It was $100 bucks at bed bath and beyond, but I used the 20% off coupon so it was only $80! Hah, only $80. Mt DH about fell off the chair when I told him how much it costs, but man does it do a great job! THey have 20% off coupons all the time in the flyers. I have no regerets. I just made some baby food and it worked excellent. Her food is perfect, no clumps! My old blender could not blend ice very well and this one is awesome. Can you tell I like it? It was well worth the $80!

Thanks, Mommas. We ended up getting a Kitchenaid and I'm right there with you!! DH is a chef and has always wanted the $400 mixer, so he was stoked when I came home with a Kitchenaid food processor. DS is almost a year old, so we chose a food processor instead of a blender, since any little chunks are okay. It's very handy to have in the kitchen all around! We also LOVE it!

I use a cuisanart food processor for making babyfood. I use a seperate blender to make smoothies. I find that the food processor works better for pureeing foods than a blender.
