My OB gave me tons of samples (Free, woo hoo) of PreCare Premier (http://www.precarepremier.com/pdf/PI.pdf). I have been using them since finding out I was prego at 8 weeks. I recently had to actually fill a Rx for it and my copay was astronomical!!! It has a stool softener, which has been a blessing, and high B (50mg). I know there are a bunch of OTC Prenatals, is one better than another or one you would reccomend?

I think unless you find your body needs more or less of what you can get OTC (iron or folic acid, for example), that OTC is the way to go- no need to pay a ton for what you can get for 1/4 of the cost. But personally, I try to get my OTC prenatals at the health food store because they have ones containing beneficial herbs like RRL, nettle, dandelion root, etc. that most (if any) Rx and other OTC ones would not.
ETA- I LOVE Vitanatal!

I agree with using OTC prenatals. I also get mine at the co-op (health food store) or via vitacost.com. I'm vegetarian and try to stay compliant with my vitamins. Also, I look for many extras that RX vitamins don't have, like whole foods, herbs, etc.
I have had good luck with
Rainbow Light
NOW (kind of high on the vitamin A -- i used this mostly post-natal/nursing)
Nature's Plus Source of Life
Country Life
Maxi Health
They are far more affordable and contain things I prefer.
Good Luck!

I used OTC during pregnancy and still use them now for bf. I was taking prenatals prior to my pregnancy and they were RX. I took the label with me to the store one day and compared the supplement facts. I found that all were almost the same...it was just the $$$ that was different. Near the end of my pregnancy, I was put on additional OTC iron pills (Slow FE).
I say go for it and save that money for some new CDs!!! :giggle2:
