So, our DD is 5 1/2 months old and has discovered the art of rolling over. The problem is she roll out from under her blanket and wakes up cold. Her little legs are like ice:headscratch: . Normally, she is a very good sleeper, all night, etc.. We usually put her in a onesie or t-shirt and socks and she stays plenty warm. I can't seem to find any 3-6 month footy pj's or anything that might help except sleep sacks. Has anyone tried these, are they anygood, they look a little bulky and like she could get twisted up in them. Any experience, advise would be greatly appreciated. Thanks mamas:goodvibes:

We have been using a sleepsack since we were in the hospital. Works wonders. Only... our LO has been rolling over since in utero (I felt him actively doing it). We watched him do it repeatedly and on purpose in the hospital even!
The only thing that slows him is the sleep sack. If he's in the crib, 90% of the time he is in one. We got a set here in Germany that comes with a winter overall style sack, and two sizes sleepsack. One for NB to 6 mo and one that is 6-12 mo.
If it is fitted properly, the LO will not roll over. If it is too big and they have wiggle room -- they'll roll. BTDT

I love sleep sacks too. In summer we used to put them over a tee shirt and diaper, in winter over thick footie jammies.

Is your DD losing sleep because she is cold? If she isn't, I wouldn't be too worried about it. My DD never keeps blankets on, and hates being too hot. She is quite comfortable sleeping in a footed sleeper or onesie, with no blankets. I keep a fan on in her room to keep it cool (no A/C except a window one in our room)
Also if it is a/c making her/the room quite cold, you could close the vent in her room so that it doesn't get as cool in there.
I'm not a fan of sleep sacks, but that's just me. and my DD sleeps anywhere from her back, to her front, to her side, during the night.. now that she can turn herself over.
ETA if you are looking for sleepers in 3-6 month, PM me if you want. I can check what I have packed away and see if I have any :goodvibes:

I can't stress to you enough how wonderful sleep sacks are. I have one my son used when he was little and now I have 3 that I rotate through and my son will not nap/sleep without his on. They are totally awesome. I got 1 local from a wahm and 2 of mine are from a ds mama (lisav) she has awesome prices and does nice work.

Sleep sacks are awesome! I loved the one we had at the beginning with a pear shaped bottom and side zipper that went around the whole bulb. You could open the "pear" part and change diapers without removing the whole sack or slip in a hand from the side to check for wetness. Make sure the neck opening is small enough that LO can't slip in.
We have a long one for DS now, and he doesn't mind that it gets twisted. The arm holes are loose enough that it doesn't pull even when "tangled."

how about a pair of tights? Might be more comfy than BL overnight. My DD wear tights quite often day & night.

I was thinkin' about footy PJ's. I don't want to impede her rolling for comfort, but I also don't think it can be fun for her to wake up cold. Thanks for the DS mama who makes pj's I am definitley gonna check her out and I think we are gonna get a sleep sac, just in case she likes it, but I think footy pj's will be the ticket. Thanks for all the help mamas. This is why I love DS!!!!

We love our sleep sacks! I wish I had known about them for DD. We pretty much started using it with our son when he could bust out of swaddling (2 or 3 months)...and since he is quite lean (okay he's a rail) he gets cold very quickly. Now he is 15 months old and still loves it. It does get twisted a bit under him but this is really only an issue to him in the morning when he wants to stand up in his crib.
I think his sleep sac is so much a part of his sleep routine that he doesn't fall asleep as well without it. I think it makes him feel secure and it is a signal to him that it is time to sleep. I've even heard of people getting them custom made for their 3 or 4 year olds!

same problem here... jackson is freezing at night. we got him some footies before, but now that it's summer time, nothing in the stores has feet... so we got him a sleep sack. Its great, he loves it and he stays nice and snuggly in there...
