Hey! I've been looking for healthy finger food tidbits for my little guy. He's been loving the Cheerios lately, but I'd like to offer him a little variety.

I picked up a bag of Gerber Graduates dried apple chunks at Target yesterday and he loves them. They're pretty expensive, though, and not organic, which I prefer.

I'm thinking there must be a better alternative out there. I know "Just Tomatoes" has a whole line of dried fruit and veggie bits. But they have a bit more substance to them, right? Like conventional dried fruit? :headscratch: I don't have a ton of experience with them, so correct me if I'm wrong.

Basically, I'm looking for something that would be appropriate who is still learning to chew. The Gerber chunks are quite airy and crisp and dissolve really quickly in the mouth.

I found a company called "Crispy Green (http://www.crispygreen.com/index.html)" that has a line of freeze dried fruit and they seem like they might be what I'm looking for. But they're pretty expensive and I'm hesitant to order something blindly, without knowing if they're what I want. Has anyone here tried that brand? Or do you have suggestions for something else?

I think the just tomatoes stuff is freeze dried too. If you have a Trader Joes they have freeze dried strawberries YUMMM

Safewway (in your area I guess it'd be Dominick's) has an organic house brand of freeze dried ttoddler fruit. There's apples/strawberries and mango/banana. They are softer and dissolve quicker than the Just Tomatoes. There are some JT stuff I won't let dd have because I'm worried it may be too choky for her.

The JT stuff does not dissolve like the more airy Gerber stuff. It's very substantive. Even with 16 teeth, Haydn some times gets a little choky with some of it. I have to watch what we allow him to have of it.
