Can you take the EPO and DTD on the same night or is that overkill?? Just wondering, my bp skyrocketed yesterday, and I'd like to try to get my body to like the idea of no longer hosting! LOL

Doing The Deed... aka, what gets us all pregnant in the first place.

I dunno. I do know EPO won't put you into labor, right? It just softens the cervix.
And, I've been DTD like mad lately - nothing is happening.
It's just a hoax. :giggle:

Oh I don't want it to put me into labor, I just want the cervix to be ready for it when it happens, kwim??? EPO and "swimmers" have the same effect on cervix, so I was wondering...

Ahhhh!

I don't think it'll hurt honestly. But, it wouldn't hurt to call and ask your care giver. But, I think as long as you're not on any restricted activity or anything...it won't do any harm.

Evening Primrose Oil - it helps soften/ripen the cervix.

Try not to worry about getting your cervix ready... :hugs: Easier said than done, I know. Your body will do its job all on its own if you leave it alone!

HA! It never has before.. no, I get to 3cm and stall, then my BP gets freak high.. :(
So far it looks like I can still go on my own, unless my protien comes back bad.

Yep, Duh! I knew that, my mom's a midwife, I should have totally known that without thinking about it

I know with my first one I tried EVERYTHING under the sun and nothing helped, I went 2.5 weeks overdue, he came when he wanted to (still does :-)

With my second one I was a week and a half overdue, DTD in the afternoon and that night went into labor

With my 3rd I had to be induced (LONG story involving Hurricane Rita and health problems)

All in all it just depends on if your body is ready. Otherwise nothing will work. I would rest and try not to stress or that will just make your BP rest. My mom told me to try Epsom Salt baths to keep my BP in check this time, I'm also taking some potassium, garlic and Magnesium supplements and it's all working, I've got better BP's with this pregnancy than any of the other's plus the Epsom salt soaks feel great (about 3 cups per tub of warm water) Also eating a stalk of celery a day will help your BP as well as some other foods.

I don't have the faintest clue about EPO-never used it, and don't plan on it, but I WILL tell you from experience, that two Sundays ago when I started having preterm contractions, and ended up in L&D to STOP them because they progressively got worse, and were NOT going away on their own, the ONLY thing that could have started them was having sex an hour before they started. I just KNOW that is what caused them. I haven't had any health issues at all this pregnancy or my other ones, my BP is completely normal, and I've been downing fluids regularly, and taking my prenatals. I seriously believe it was DTD that led to this. So, DH and I are taking a hiatus until next week, because Dr. said he wouldn't send me home if they started again at 36 weeks. I do not want to end up in there again like that, and DH does not want me to go through that again either. It sucked.

It's up to you what you feel like doing though. By 36/37 weeks, we will be moving forward with DTD as often as we can, because I've gained so much weight, I can barely function, and now I have edema, which sucks big time. I can't even walk right and no shoes fit me :(

Good luck, and I hope both prepare your cervix. As for me, I'm steering clear of trying to induce myself naturally until it's time. ;)
