Wow...Where to begin...I am still mentally processing the whole birth. I wanted a HBA2C more than anything. I feel that even though I didn't end up pushing her out, I still "birthed" her at home.
Anyway...
Mon. the 21st at around 10 at night my water broke. Not to much happened that night. I had some smaller contractions and was losing my plug. I was able to sleep.
Tuesday..The contractions picked up a bit. I was still "leaking" plug and fluids. My MW stopped over around 2 and did a check. I was only at a one or two so she gave me the go ahead to leave the house. I went to Adrock's basketball game around 5. My mom then took me to the mall to walk and my contractions really picked up then. I would say active labor started around then. I was up all night contracting. The birth ball felt great during this. DH was timing my contractions. They were coming about 5-10 minutes apart so we waited to call the MW's.
Wednesday...MW's arrive around 8 am. I feel like I want to die. I surely must have baby by noon. MW do a check. She says I am at a 10. (later we realize, I wasn't). MW's make me walk a marathon around my house for awhile. That really picked up the contractions which I already thought were bad. They then have me get in the pool. Ah..some relief. I stayed in there for about 2 hours before they suggest I get out. They then have me get on hands and knees and they cradled my belly in a maya wrap. They would lift up my belly with each contraction. That was killer. Honestly, the rest of the day/night just turns into a blur. I got "stuck" on the toilet a lot. It felt good to just sit there. Finally around 8 pm. it was time to push. Everyone was getting so excited. We thought ok, for sure, we will have babe in less than an hour. 5 hours later and having done every position possible, MW's start talking about transfering. The baby wasn't coming over a bone in my pelvis. I bawled. That is the same reason Adrock was a c-section. So, around 1, we gather up a bag and head to the hossy. Thank God the hossy is only 10 blocks from me. It was the longest ride of my life.
They checked me in through the ER and headed me up to L&D. The Dr. got there quick and told me we were going to do a c-section. I was just so ready to be done. They got me in surgery and at 3:06 Miss Genesis entered the world. She did have a lot of meconium but was fine.
So that is it....After about 25+ hours of hard labor and around 5-6 hours of pushing, my baby girl was delivered c-section. I still consider her birthed at home. It was the hardest work of my life and even though things ended how they did, I still would do it again. I feel that God had a lot to teach me with this whole experience.
