Sorry it took so long to post this!
As lots of you know I've been in the hospital on bedrest for preterm labor. I had my last baby at 33 weeks also and have been on bedrest since 14 weeks.
I had been in the hospital for 5 days and just got my IV out the day before since I was not actively progressing. I was hooked upto a contractions monitor and heart beat monitor 2xs a day to see if I had contractions, since I don't feel them...at ALL. August 4th my OB was getting back in town from being out of town for the weekend, I had promised her I'd wait for her. So, she comes in in the AM and does her rounds, she tells me "you're still pregnant, that's awesome I am not even going to check you" so, my nurse comes in after my shower and hooks me up to the monitors and I am contracting, big ones and every minute and a half apart, and I can't feel a thing. My OB was still making rounds and runs in after about the 4th or 5th contraction, and checks me, I had been 3 cm, 70% and -2 station, and I had only progressed to 3 1/2 cm and everything else was the same, but I started to bleed, and I had been reporting pain under my incision from my previous c-secs like a burning feeling on my left side, so she tells me to drink a whole pitcher of water since I had no IV at the time, I drink the water, still the ctx don't stop, and in an hour I was rechecked and 4 cm, 80% and -1 station. She told me she didn't want to stop the labor anymore since I had the burning sensation, she thought my c-sec scar might be slowly pulling apart and rupturing, so I of course brought up a VBA2C and she said she'd have been game if I didn't have the burning pain, so she told me she was going to immediatley take the baby via c-sec. I was wheeled back after kissing my little boy Riley bye, he and MIL waited for us during the surgery. I had the c-sec and this time I was so scared something would happen, but it went great, no pain, it did feel like forever though. My OB said my uterus was very thin especially where I had been reporting pain, but hardly any scar tissue and she'd allow me another baby one day (my biggest fear was not being able to have 4 babies). Payton Maddox was born at 2:22 pm, and he came out screaming, and didn't stop, I immediatley knew he was healthier than my DD who was born at 33 weeks who let out a small cry. He weighed 5 lbs 2 oz (same as DD) and was 17.2" long. While they sewed me up, they cleaned him up and observed him, and DH asked them when he was going to the NICU and if he could go to...to our surprise they told us NO NICU stay, not even for observation!!!!!! That is almost unheard of, and they told me this happens only on a very rare occasion. I was overwhelmed that he could stay with us since my last birth they whisked her away and she was in the NICU for 2 weeks. After they got done with me, they brought me to recovery and I got to have the baby with me, I immediatley got to nurse him and I never put him down, no IV's, monitors, nothing, he was perfect and he was mine. I kept waiting on them to find something wrong with him and take him away from me. They never did. We went to our room, and we roomed in together the whole time, he nursed like a champ the whole time in the hospital, slept good, no vaccines, or circ (thanks to you ladies here), it went wonderful. We're home now and have been since Thursday afternoon.
My OB asked me if we were going to circ (she said she wouldn't/couldn't do it now since he as a preemie his ped would have to), I told her no, and she told me on 3 occasions that she was so happy and proud of my decision, and told me she hated doing circs, it made us feel good about our decision since DH and DS1 are circ'd. No one gave us hell about not vaxing either, it was by far the best out of the 3 births I've had.
