Red blood is fresh blood.
If I were you, I would call in to whomever just to ease my mind. :hugs:

I had some brown blood at the beginning of my pregnancy (just had DS two weeks ago) and my midwives said that if it turned red to contact them. Brown blood is old blood (in my case, it probably showed up because of the implantation at conception) but red blood is fresh and needs to be checked by a physician.

Yes I have to agree and say that you should call into whomever you have caring for you during your preganancy and see what they say about it.

I'm anxious to hear news too. I did read that a pretty large %age of women experience bleeding sometime during pregnancy and I was surprised.

Hello everyone. I'm new here but I have some experience in this. I spotted off and on for about 2 months. I was checked out and everything was fine. They said it could be from a myriad of insignificant things like implanting, having a flase period around hte time you might have normally had one, haivng sex... YOu should always check in with your dr or midwife just so they are aware of it but it's not always something bad. good luck :)

I'm glad this is discussed here - because I was just coming to post a ? about it. This is my 2nd pregnancy, and I had no spotting or anything w/DD. I've been having a brownish discharge off and on. I was told to not worry if it is brown, but if it turns red to call in. It's just different!

I spotted here and there with my dd, but had nothing with this pregnancy up until last weekend. I started gushing blood and passing clots. It was the day after my vaginal ultrasound. I called my obgyn and he told me all was fine. That she probably bumped my cervix with the wand during the u/s. It was a ton of blood and lasted 4 hours...but no pain or weird feelings. Then today, I wiped and had a decent amount of bright red blood and a few mins later it turned to dark red...it's gone now and again, no cramping. I will call tomorrow and demand an exam.
