mucus plug??

how big is it usually? I think I may have lost mine, but it looked rather small? lol. just curious as I"ve never seen one before? thanks!

the "blob" i noticed was maybe half dollar sized...maybe slightly larger. it was just mucousy looking though - nothing that really looked like a plug.

Mine was like a cone-shaped blob about the size of a silver dollar. It's possible to just lose part of it. -It's also possible to regrow it-

I've never seen mine but I've heard it can be a large glob like what the PP's said or you can lose it over time which would be in smaller amounts:) How many weeks are you?

It is a huge blob of mucus. many times it will have pink or red blood striping in it since your cervix needs to change to let it go, and when you cervic changes you can bleed a tiny bit. I only ever saw mine with my last baby, and then again with this one but it was much smaller this time. It is pretty gross looking.

Sounds funny to say this...but I REALLY want to see mine this pregnancy...lol

Mine wasn't big at all. Maybe the size of a nickle or so. But I felt really different the day I lost it. It was def. whitish pink. I lost it at 4 pm and was in labor by midnight. I was also 5.5 weeks early. I wasn't sure it was my plug until my water broke at midnight. I thought it might be and kept reading "what to expect when your expecting" over and over again. Then my water broke and convinced me it was indeed the mucus plug. I might have missed it all together if I hadn't felt so weird all day long. It's really not much to see.

I only saw mine with my last DD. Lost it about 3wks before I had her. It was kinda snot looking (TMI) kinda whitish tinged in pink with red streaks....was about half dollar sized. DH was grossed out so I dont recommend showing your significant other no matter how excited you are, LOL!!

Just wanted to add than if you get any internal exams during the last few weeks of your pregnancy, you may notice some pinkish mucous later that day or the next day...it's from the cervix being examined, and isn't the mucous plug.

Ditto for DTD with DH.

If neither of the above apply, then there's a good chance of it being your plug. :goodvibes:
