well i went to the ob and im already 2 and half cm dilated and am having light contractions tonight so i really dont think ill make it to my duedate

i thought i was... but im at 37 weeks now.... and no change- 4 cm dilated 90% effaced. been that for 3 weeks now...

I probably will. I did with my first - I'm 35 weeks now but starting to have "real" contractions (as opposed to the constant BH I've been having for two months...) The only reason I know it's not BH is because I've been in labor before, lol.

Boo hoo, I was 36 wk 2 days at my last appointment and cervix is shut tight. :( My next appt on Tuesday I'll be 37 wk 3 days..maybe something will have happened by then. Either way, they are estimating my LO at 6 lbs. so a couple more weeks is probably a good idea.

My care provider prefers not to do internal exams, but I'm half-tempted to ask her to at my next appointment. DH is convinced that I'm going to go early and he tends to have good intuition about these types of things.

I feel like I will, and hope too. :blush: DS came at 37w 3d and was 7lbs 7oz, and DD was a few days late and was 8lbs 4oz, so I feel like he'll be okay coming anytime after tomorrow. I'm just so ready to have my new little baby boy and to get into our new family routine with him.

I'm ready and anxious, but I don't expect to go early. I had one at 36 weeks and one at 41 weeks. I'm expecting to go around my due date, in three weeks!!! I haven't been checked either but lots of contractions! My nurse midwife waits until 39 weeks to check, which I think is great. Most of the time getting checked just gets your hopes up or crushes you for no reason. You can go into labor and dialate quickly from nothing or do it slowly over time. I was walking around at 6cm with my 2nd and still not in labor.

I'm not getting checked either, but lots of BH and I'm just ready...the holiday weekend is fine with me, before another big storm has time to get here!

I see no reason for me to go early. DS was 1 day early from his due date. So I'm expecting that I'll have this baby on due date. My dates are the 22nd and u/s is the 24th so maybe it'll be the 23rd. But your guess is as good as mine.

I'm hoping to go a little early too because I'm just so excited. I almost wish I hadn't gotten checked because it does tend to get my hopes up (2 cm, 25%). I just keep trying to remember what my midwife says: "When the fruit is ripe, it will fall from the tree." This is the hardest part for me--waiting these final few days/weeks and TRYING to be patient!!

I'm due on the 11th, and last week was 50% effaced and 2 cm (-3 station).

Just in the past two days, I've been feeling lots and lots of pressure on my cervix and a few contractions that have gotten my attention, but nothing regular. All four of my other children came around 10 days early, so I think this LO may come as soon as this weekend. I've already told my midwife to not schedule anything for the 1st. LOL

But at least it's a downward trend, and this one is a boy, so maybe just maybe, He'll be a little more punctual than his sisters! I'm due on Tuesday and Labor Day is on Monday... Sounds like a good day to be born to me! Lets see if he agrees...

I'm so jealous... I still have over four weeks left (due the 30th, so technically a month, but that's just over 4 weeks) and I can't imagine I've made any progress already, but my midwife doesn't check, either. I am sitting a LOT lower than I was with my DD and have been having a ton of BH, and some pressure on my cervix (dare I hope???). But I can't even hope to deliver before the 8th, because then I'll have to go to the hospital and I don't want to go to the hospital. But I am SOOO ready for this baby to come out!

I'm due Sept 30th, but won't go past Sept 23rd as I have GD and baby is already measuring 8lbs and the abdomen is measuring larger than the head circumference - worried about birth trauma if she goes to 40 weeks.

I see the doc tomorrow but I'm pretty sure I've still got time to spare too - and I want her NOW! :giggle2: They estimated she's a little over 7 lbs. so it's time, and I'm due in 11 days, so why is she so HIGH?

Well, so much for my "I always go early" routine! His due date is today... :)

I'm dilated to between 3 and 4 and am pretty much fully effaced. I wonder what the lil' bugger is waiting for??

oh, not me...I'm due Monday but only 1 cm dialated...not that I think that means anything...other than that you will have a faster delivery.
I am trying to optimistically pessimistic, I know he'll be late, but I'm ok with that because I want a little more time with my little guy and my house is a mess!
