I have not been active in here yet, I have been asking a lot of questions in Q&A and purchased my stash mostly off the FSOT but I thought I would drop in and see if anyone else is starting to get the lovely end of pregnancy insomnia that I am having. I am 35.5 weeks along right now and It has only been going on maybe a week now but every night I wake up around 2-2:30 and lay there until 4am or so. it is 4:30 now and I don't know if I should even bother to try to go back to bed or not *sigh* If I do then I will just have to get up with the kids in a couple hours, I think DHs alarm goes off in an hour for work........ UGH.

Ugh Rebekah...that stinks. I have some of that going on now. I go to sleep fine but wake up many times with my head whirring....things to do, thoughts, plans, etc... I try to quiet myself and try to not even get up to pee, which is HARD! The cat can tell I'm awake and decides since I'm awake I should rub her belly.
Where are you in Maine? I'm in Windham. Have we been over this? Forgive me if we have - preggo brain. :)

Not too much insomnia here. Every couple of nights I'll wake up around 4 and just start thinking too much. Then I can't turn off my brain and get back to sleep. I usually come down to DS to wind down a little before trying to get back to sleep.

:goodvibes: I am up in the Bangor area, I don't we had discussed it yet. It is funny that you mentioned your mind whirring with things to be done, I got up last night to make a list of all of the phone calls i needed to make today and all of the things I needed to take care of after a long weekend with nothing open. LOL.

Oh, I know exactly what you are talking about...
I'm 35 weeks today, and have spent the last two weeks without a decent night sleep. Pretty much I'm up at 1:12am (for whatever odd reason), wake back up between 3:30am and 4:30am, and feel completely refreshed. By the time I get myself back to sleep, DH's alarm is going off at 5:45am - and then I feel just awful and completely unrested.
By mid-afternoon, I could use a good nap - but DS is always in full play mode at that point, so not a chance. At least I'll be all adjusted to the new feeding schedule *before* the LO arrives :giggle:

I was born in Bangor but haven't really lived there since I was 4. My dad was the minister at Grace United Methodist. My brother and his family live over in Southwest Harbor. My sister-in-law works for WABI TV. I'm not sure if she uses her married name of Susan Young or her maiden of Susan Farley.

hahahaha I almost think I recognize the name! She is actually on the air right? small world.
so do more people do cloth down in your area? I have only literally known maybe 3-4 families around here who have done cloth and those were all people I knew YEARS ago!

Not too much here, but I am up about 3-4 times a night changing position, wondering if it's worth it to climb over a kid to go to the bathroom, etc.

Yup, she's on air. I think she runs the Ellsworth satellite office. Blonde and little, that's Susan.
There are quite a few people who cd here but not nearly enough...IMHO. I've met a bunch locally, which is nice and have run into a few out and about too. I know my mom cd'ed when we lived in Bangor but that was 1969 so it was about the only option and it was flats and plastic pants.:giggle: They were hung to dry on a clothesline over on Fourteenth Street.

I think it's our bodies getting us ready for when the baby comes and keeps us up half the night.

It finally hit me a couple of nights ago. I hate it. I fall asleep really early and then could get up for the day at 2am. But when I force myself to keep going back to sleep it's torture to get up with the boys at 6:30.

Actually right after i posted this I started walking on the treadmill everyday and I have been sleeping much MUCH better at night!! My restless legs have also gotten better int he evenings! I think I was just not getting enough exercise. Although housework makes me tired It was not strenuous enough. The extra 45 min on the treadmill has made a world of difference! have even been going to bed earlier and still sleeping through the night. Not to mention the fact that i have contractions while walking and have dialated 1 cm as of Tuesday :lostit:

it's been going on for weeks for me. having to pee, GI issues, itchiness, can't get comfortable. i can't wait until my sleep is punctuated because of my new baby, rather than these irritating health complaints.

well contractions woke me up 5 times between 9pm and 1:30 (yes I was exhausted from cooking all day and was asleep by 9pm:blush: ) This is the first time my contractions have been strong enough to actually wake me up. They feel like really REALLY bad gas :giggle2: I forgot what they felt like. I couldn't get back to sleep after that so I have been downstairs drinking a cup of red raspberry leaf tea and reading my new canning book that my dad brought over with a giant pressure canner. I guess since the garden is too much for him any more he thought he would pass his canning equiptment down to me.:lostit: It is a nice one too!
I wish I could sleep. I really don't think I am in labor yet although I don't think it will be long now either. I do have a lot to do tommorow and need some sleep! I told DH I can't go into labor until tommorow night because there were so many tomatoes i need to finish cooking them down tommorow! If I don't then everything will spoil! Not to mention the FRUIT FLIES!!:yuck:

So exciting Rebekah! ELV for you, after the canning of course! ;)
I may start the treadmill thing too- I slowed the exercise right down when contracting earlier, but now at 36 weeks, it's probably ok to add it back in!
