My Bamboo Fabric ~
The fleece I use is a heavy weight fabric and is not manufactured in China. This bamboo is far superior to the Chinese imported bamboo fabrics. The mill uses only high modulus yarns which absorb more, maintain a higher luster and naturally resist pilling, and it has an Oeko-Tex Product Class I Certification. To obtain this certification, products are tested for all known harmful substances, both regulated and unregulated, that accumulate in all stages of fabric production from cultivation to finishing. Achieving this level of certification assures consumers the textiles are suitable for use in all products designed for babies and children.

Contoured Inserts ~
Three thirsty layers of bamboo fleece sewn with just the right contoured shape to fit a pocket diaper or use with just a cover. The contoured shape lends extra absorption in the areas you need it most! These are sewn with one side knit and the other the fuzzy bamboo fleece - you choose which side to use on top! Available in 3 sizes to best fit your individual needs. Newborn for little ones or for use a a small soaker, Medium for the most versitile fit (fits on all three settings on my one-size pockets), and Large for when you need full coverage in bigger sizes.

I've never used bamboo before but I hate my STINKY MF inserts. I am using the Cotton Babies Bum Genius 1 size inserts. How much do the bamboo absorb compared to those? Do they get stinky like the MF? I know hemp absorbs slow but alot and MF absorbs fast but not as much- How does bamboo compare? Are these thick like MF or thin like hemp? Can you use them as a liner or doubler next to the skin? Sorry for all of these question! I'm still pretty new at all of this! And I had no idea there were so many options! Thank you!

I'll try to break them down for you....

Bamboo is a wonderful diaper fabric due to it's antimicrobial properties, with proper washing there is no residual smell in them.

They are more absorbent than hemp, and even less bulky! (The absorption per insert is higher than a MF insert, and quite a bit thinner.) I use three layers to give adequate absorption and still a fast drying time. As the bamboo wears, it gets softer, whereas hemp will get a "crunchy" feel to it.

The bamboo is soft and can be used right against baby's skin, making it ideal for use with just a cover, or a pocket diaper.

The absorption time of the bamboo is fast - as they become "broken-in" with more washings, the absorption time and capacity will reach it's full potential.

To give you an idea, I use one-size pocket diapers on my son and for night-time or naps, I lay 2 of these bamboo inserts an extra small soak-er layer of bamboo or hemp right in the area he needs it most. He wakes up happy, dry, with no leaks and you'd be amazed how trim the diaper is! When I take them out of the pocket diaper to put them in my diaper pail is when you see how much the inserts have really absorbed! For daytime, I use 2 bamboo inserts and it will absorb for hours without leaking.

Good point, I hadn't thought of that. My last question is: do these work as doublers as well as inserts? I want to increase the absorbancy of night time diapers but don't want to worry about having fleece layer next to my lo's skin. She is not that sensitive.

Yep, I use them for everything; inside BGOS, and lay them in a Thirsties cover, in any cover really. The fleece is really just the fuzzy part...like the inside of a sweatshirt, and oh so soft! :) I was surprised at how much I love these. So much, that I'm phasing out my prefolds and going all bamboo inserts. And I've been using prefolds from the beginning of time (or so it seems!).

My son is now 11 months and he's mostly on solids - still Bf'ing though - and now for naps/daytime & night-time, I stack 2 of the full size inserts and that's all he needs.

Mediums are a good all around size - if they are too long for the covers/pockets you're using when the baby is smaller, you can fold over one end to shorten, and will last up until potty training size. I used (and still do with my 14 mth old) mediums in my pockets all the way up to when my daughter was 2 yrs old & potty training. :goodvibes:

Each lg g-sized insert will hold aprox 150ml on it's own once it's fully prepped. Because of their trim size, stacking even 2 or 3 inserts can make a significant increase in absorption potential without giving bulk to the diaper. :goodvibes: Most people find that 1-2 inserts stacked is good for the daytime - some really like to double them up to give them more absorption and longer in between changes. :goodvibes:

Depends on how little the baby is. Prefolds are great for containing baby poo, but once the stool is more solid, I like to use just inserts.

For night-time, 2 stacked inserts would be good for a normal wetter, 3 for a super soaker. :goodvibes:
