I hate it until they're actually sleeping...which takes forever!

Mine are giving them up!
they are awake right now. my 4.5 naps occasionally, but my 2yo just started giving them up. I wont force him to take a nap.

I have a friend who puts her almost 2.5yo up every day for 3 hrs. whether she sleeps or not. She is still in a crib. :banghead:

My LO just turned 2 and it is getting to wear more often than not he does not take a nap! I need him to take a nap so I can get housework done.

I have a video you might find encourageing LOL ... brb with the link :hugs:

Here it is! This is my son Aaron, when he was 2, and decided naps were NOT for him anymore  Strangely, his little brother is now 2 and a half and still naps for like 3 hours every afternoon! :giggle2:

yeah, i know they are starting to not need them anymore. but the problem is they share a room. jonas typically doesn't need a nap, though that means he goes to bed earlier than micah. 2 bedtimes, one room....

but today jonas needs a nap. he slept like crap last night (which is why i am so tired and supercranky) and has been so whiney.

i usually lie down with them, one at a time, until at least one of them falls asleep. but today it just wasnt' happening, and of course, that really makes me angry because *I* need them to sleep, bc i am so tired and need a nap myself. so i lost my temper, smacked jonas' butt and yelled at them to be quiet.

and after i regained myself i went and got them up and snuggled with jonas. then they went outside and what do ya know? jonas hit micah. of course he did, mom did it, so its ok to hit, right? that's the appropriate response. i should crawl under a rock.

we are on our way to a better day. i took some rescue remedy and we are now watching sewing on tv. i haven't let them watch tv in so long, but today is shot already, and this is calming for all of us right now.

alright, thanks for letting me cry to you all.

After age 2 I ask if they want a nap or not. My current 2yo is about 50/50 right now. I just won't do naptime battles, it would also make me feel :banghead: . Have you tried skipping naps for a week to see what happens?
