View Full Version : Preparing wool for recycled shorties

Can someone give me a run down of this? Just wash and dry on hot? Also, Can I sell them or must I have a license for these? looking for some ways to make extra money...no longer sell dipes, thought i would try my hand at these..thanks for any advice! I totally know how to sew them..just want advice on preparing the sweaters first? thanks in advance!

I don't ever wash and dry my wool before hand. It will shrink like mad that way. Maybe I'm doing it wrong but I just take the sweater and cut it to suit my needs, then lanolize and Eucalan it and its ready to go.
I also don't have a license but I make them and sell them. :) There are free patterns and instructions if you google it so I don't think you need one.

Can you just snip the seams of the sleeves, then sew them together? Tried this last night and came out with a pair of shorties that would fit me...
