So I just had the pleasure of drinking down my bottle of Glucola test beverage. Yum! Ack. Someone recommended drinking it with a straw so that I wouldn't taste as much, but I think that was worse than just drinking it . the aftertaste was worse than the first taste, and so without that front-tongue taste, all I got was aftertaste. Ick.

I'm off soon for the blood draw part. Yay! I'm not worried about failing, as I passed with flying colors during my last pregnancy. It's just one more hoop to jump!

UPDATE:
I got my results back. I passed with an 83! Yay...

:yuck: I'm going in 2 weeks. I have to drink it at the clinic and wait an hour though....youre lucky to be able to do that part from home.

Good luck on your test and thanks for not recommending the straw....I was thinking of trying it that way

Never had to do that with my first, and I am hoping I don't this time either. I don;t hear of too many moms having to do that here, sounds gross though from what I've heard from other moms who have had to do it

Funny how practice is different from one place to the other....here it's standard procedure....every woman who has prenatal care must do this test.

Yup, at my clinic they prefer to overtest than undertest. I just looked at my online chart and noted that although this is my second pregnancy with the same doctor in less than 2 years, they re-ran even my BLOOD TYPE test. ??? I also noted that there was an antibody screen run on me in July and yet my doc told me this week that I need to have an antibody screen before my next appt. AGAIN??? Good thing I don't mind having my blood drawn.

I had to do the glucola test 2 weeks ago as an early test since my mom had GD with my sis and bro. I have to have it again in 6 weeks when my dr normally does it.
