If you work during the day, can you tell me what your evening schedule is like?
My son will start full day kindergarten in the Fall. I hope to shift from a 9.5 hour day to an 8.5 hour day so I can be home by 3:30 or a touch earlier to meet the bus.
Then I figure we'll take a little break, and start right in on homework. Then we can go pick up my younger son at daycare by 5:00.
Then I'll continue with my current dinner, bath, bed routine.
Of course, we'll have to work in Flag Football practice too, twice a week. He did it this year, and I got very creative with TO GO meals.

I am a teacher so my schedule is a little different from the normal working moms...
I am off at 12:30 (yippee for 0 period) and get home around 1pm (even on meeting days I am home around 4pm).
I get the kids from school around 3pm. Everyone has a snack then the twins do homework while the little one colors at the table or watches a movie. I cook dinner while they are doing homework.
Dinner is around 4-4:30
From there we either go to dance, swim, cheerleading or the kids get to play outside if its warm or inside if its not.
At 6pm everyone is inside/home and we do showers
By 6:20 the twins start their 20 minutes of reading time (part of homework) and lights out close to 6:40.
If they don't want to sleep they can read in bed or play as long as they stay in there rooms and there is no fighting. They can only come out to get a drink of water or to go to the bathroom.

Wow, that's an early dinner. Do they have to get up early for school? My DH doesn't get home from work until 6:10. I'll bet you have to get up early to teach though too. Thanks! That really works well for extra curricular activities too.

Dh and I both teach. I leave for work at 5am and he gets the kids ready and out the door by 7am. He is home from work by 4-4:30 unless its soccer season but then he doesn't eat with us anyway because he's home after the kids go to bed.

Mon and Thurs:
-out the door by 7am
-leave work by 4:45
-pick up DS and get home by 5:30
-get mail, feed dogs, play until 6
-eat by 6:30
-bath and in bed by 7 - 7:30
Tues and Wed
-out the door by 7am
-leave work by 4:45
-pick up DS and get home by 5:30
-get mail, feed dogs as quickly as possible
-eat by 6
-bath and on the way to second job at church by 6:30 (DS only goes when DH is working which is half the time)
-get home around 9, DS to bed (he usually falls asleep in the car)
Fri, Sat, Sun
-work on Friday but evening schedule is more relaxed
-weekend schedule is relaxed but we try to stick to an early bedtime
