TTC is not always an easy journey. And, many times, people facing this journey do not receive the love and support they need to go through it. Now, we have a special place of our own. Where we can share our frustrations, laughs, and sadness without holding back.
Please, feel free to take a few minutes to introduce yourselves either for the first time, or again.

Ashley: The thread looks great!
How is everyone doing?
AF is almost completely gone for me! Yay! I stopped the Chromium Picolinate because I read some things and got scared and decided to stop until Charlotte confirms I'm taking the right dosage and stuff. (Chromium Picolinate 800mg 1x daily?) I'm toying with the idea of temping. I have the stuff I've just never done it. We get paid a half a month's extra this month so I'm going to pay off the ob and the re and then maybe go back. There were some insurance issues to fix and my bill was getting really high, so we put a pause on it until we pay the bill and then we'll start back. We have enough debt as it is
On a happier side note, I'm going home tomorrow, dooh dah, dooh dah! I have finished, printed and have ready in a folder all of my paper work. Now is procrastinating DH would finish his I could turn it in, wash a load of clothes, and pack! YAY!!! :bliss: :yay: :happyclap: :highfive: :ohyeah: :ohyeah:  :broc: :carrot:
LOL...very long shift, but I think the smack down has been sufficiently laid down :roflmbo: .

Ashley, great job! It looks awesome :hugs:. CD 2 here and nothing to report LOL. I'm going to go replenish my Vitex supply today and am also thinking of doing the baby aspirin thing. Anything else I should try? I don't have PCOS if that helps. I am also taking b6. I am making DH go on FertilAid for Men this cycle too :giggle:.
Talked to my m/w office this morning and they gave me the names of the two REs they refer to - one is an hour+ away and the other is about 2 hrs. away but it's Dartmouth which is very highly regarded......so I'm torn. I'm going to make a decision today though so I can get the ball rolling.

I have no idea, Robyn. I just ordered a bunch of herbs and stuff from GNC last night. And, some progesterone cream.
Just one question about Prog. cream. I had been rubbing it on the insides of my wrists, like the label stated. And, a month later, I had AF. I am just wondering if there is a better place to put it? I was thinking my inner thighs... closer to where it needs to be? Also, when I would put it on... my wrists would feel tingly... then they would feel bruised a few minutes later? Is that a normal feeling? Oh, one more... Should I take my TTC pre-o cocktail when I start it?!? Or forget those, and just take my Post-O cocktail?

The progesterone cream I usually start 3 dpo through when AF shows up. I don't take it in the first half of the cycle. It can inhibit O from what I understand. I put it on the inside of my wrists, inner elbow, behind knees, shins, tops of feet, tops of hands, basically anywhere that the skin is pretty thin and there's not a lot of fat so that it will absorb quickly into the bloodstream. I alternate too - if I put it one place one day, I'll put it somewhere else the next. That may help with the tingling etc. for you if you spread it around a little.
Hope that maybe helps.....

Ashley, the thread looks great! Thanks again for getting it started!

Oh, that's a tough decision, I'm glad you are getting things going already though. I'm not sure if you are looking for opinions but if it were me, I think I would probably just go with the 2 hour one, it leaves less room for second guessing later on since it seems to be your better choice. Good luck :goodvibes:

Hi everyone!!
We had a great weekend. We stayed in a cabin that was built in the 1930's and is on the national register of historic places!! There was no phone (including cell service), no tv, and no internet. It was so nice to be away from all of those things for a few days. They did have electricity and a range, which I am glad they did because I am not sure I would have been able to cook over the fire. There was even a hook for a kettle to hang on over the flame!!
AF showed on Saturday, which is good. I have been known to have 50 day cycles - this one was only 33 days. I have an ultrasound appointment on Wednesday before Thanksgiving to check for follicle size. We also ordered the trigger shot today, and it should be arriving in the mail tomorrow. I am really ready to get going on this - hopefully it will work!!
I hope everyone else is doing well today!!

Laura- I'm so glad you had fun at your get-a-way. It sounds very romantic!!
AFM: I went to wholefoods to buy my supplements. I got a b-complex, fish oils, and the kids vitimans. I wanted to get d-pinitol, when I asked the lady looked at me like I had three eyes. They don't carry it.
Char- Where do you get yours? Do you have to order it? I'm gonna try the Vitiman Shoppe.
So starting tomorrow am. I will be taking b-complex (twice a day) fish oils (twice a day) Vitex and Red Rasberry Leaf tablets ( twice a day), and prenatals. I'll start the d-pinitol when I get it in.
I need more info on the prog cream. I'm thinking of starting that as well.

Oh man!!! I just typed a really long post and then it went bye bye:cry:
So here i go again...
Robyn-:yay: for getting 2 names from your midwife. If I were you i would call them both and see how soon you can get in...heck if you ahve met your deductible for the year and can get in this year might as well. And most insurance plans if you met your deductible in the last 3 months of the year, you get to go in to next year having your deductible already met.....so then you get 15 months of post deductible insurance denefits! Also make sure both offices take your insurance and that you have infertility testing and treatment benefits:thumbsup:
As for supplements, if you are not currently taking a prenatal, i would ditch the b complex and just take the prenatal....it has a nice big dose of vit b and all of the other goodies that you need daily. I would also add in a fish oil (nordic naturals or carlsons-you can get both at most health food stores) and CoQ10. Both will help your egg quality! And get you dh on a mutliple and the fish & coq10 to help boost his spermies. Also, i ahve a bottle of vitex that i won't be using anymore, do you want it? As for the baby aspirin, it will help if you have blood clotting issues, but if not it likely won't hurt, so taht one is up to you:-)
Ashley- When i was using prog cream they told me to put it on my belly, the insides of my elbos and the backs of my knees....all areas of thin skin so the prog can absorb easily. It is natural prog cream right? I think the synthetic stuff has lost of side effects.
julie- :yay: for crosshairS!!!! Are you doing trigger shot too?
Laura- I can't wait to see how your US appt goes on wed...i ahve mine on thurs for suppression check:thumbsup: Are you using injectibles.... I can't keep everyones stats straight...

Header looks great, I'm not in it though, lol. I posted my info. in the last thread. ;)
Crystal, your chart looks GREAT. I think it looks promising. {{hugs}} I know the waiting is torture!
Kristin, you reminded me that I need to get another bottle of fish oil capsules (like Nordic Naturals the best).
I've thought about getting the progesterone cream, but I think I'll be asking about progesterone from my OB/GYN and see what they think. I asked about it last time I was pg. after the two miscarriages and she thought I didn't need it. The new OB/GYN I see now will be more open to it I think. Will find out in a couple of months when I go in.
I'm still bummed about the 9 day (well, 8 days of no spotting) LP.

Well ladies, guess what? I owe NOTHING to my RE!!! I called to get my balance to try to pay it off, and she said "oh honey, your balance is zero." I was like "umm, you want to run that by me again?" I'm so amazed. I got a bill that was $500 and then another for $300. I thought it was around $800, but noticed that I hadn't gotten a bill recently. I'm just amazed. DH was really excited. He said, so does that mean that everything we've done so far we could do again? To which I responded "you mean we could cycle again?" I thought for a minute and yeah, why not? We could try it again. :goodvibes:
Robyn: I would do the one that's two hours away as well, provided you can travel like that several times a month. I know for us, even in the same town, it was hard having to go several times a month, but I had DH at home to watch DS. DS freaked when I went to the ob/gyn appointments and they had to stick me. He would scream and cry and yell "no no hurt my mamma!" But, having said that, I'd really like the highly regarded one as well. My RE here was part of the team at Walter Reed that came up with the new IVF procedures and the new minimal stimulation protocol, so I felt really comfortable with him, but I would have traveled further had I thought someone else was better further away.
Crystal: Those temps are looking nice!

We are not doing injectables. We are doing 6 cycles of Femara w/trigger shot. The first three will be with timed intercourse. The second three will be with IUI. After that, we will be referred to an RE.

Laura: I’m glad you had a great weekend, I knew you! Good luck with the ultrasound and the shot… what exactly is a trigger shot? :headscratch:
Delana: I can’t wait for you to get stated on all of this, I really hope it helps.
Erin: That’s awesome about not owing anything, good luck with the next cycle!
Robyn: Good luck with the new cocktail, I hope it’s exactly what you need to get a good sticky bean this cycle!
Kirsten: So what was for dinner? :goodvibes:
I’m really frustrated this evening. I got 2 more bills in the mail today :banghead: So on top of my DH’s $120 SA and an extra $30 (on top of my already $20 co pay) for my first Ob/Gyn visit, I owe another $130 for my blood work and I haven’t even received the bill for my second visit or the internal ultrasound I got :banghead: My husband is going to call the insurance company but I don’t think any of this is covered. It’s just so frustrating because we already paid so much for his surgery, we didn’t expect to have to pay for all of this too. We’ve been trying really hard to save lately too, we need to either buy a bigger house or add on to this one. But with Christmas coming and all the expenses for DDs adoption (adoption announcements, clothes for all of us for our day in court and for her baby dedication at church  …), the saving isn’t going too well right now. I just don’t feel like having to pay all these Dr bills again too

Laura: I’m glad you had a great weekend, I knew you! Good luck with the ultrasound and the shot… what exactly is a trigger shot? :headscratch:
A trigger shot is HCG. The Femara causes the follicles to develop and the trigger shot causes ovulation. Usually timed intercourse or IUI's are completed within 12-24 hours (if I remember right off the top of my head) to catch the egg. It helps with timing.

Hi ladies! I haven't had time yet to read through our new thread. I was gone this weekend, so I feel behind. Butttt, I'm almost certain that I O'd on Saturday. I've had 2 days of high temps so far, and hopefully tomorrow's temp will confirm. I'm excited to be getting back to normal, and on with ttc. No more tta for us :) I'll be doing all of my new blood work tests next monday, only one more week of waiting for that. And then my hysteroscopy is scheduled for Dec 4'th. That should line up perfectly with my cycle this month. I was worried that I would have to change the hysteroscopy AGAIN if Af came, but she should be here, and gone by then. I'm praying for some answers this time. Even if it's just that we need to adjust the meds that I'm already on. Oh and here's my addition to the list

For those who want to order d-Pinitol 600 or other natural health solutions for PCOS pm me--I got my new d-Pinitol order yesterday and have the 1-800 number.
The link is --www.ovarian-cysts-pcos.com.(natural health solutions for PCOS)
the customer service manager is Ann Lewis--email her at:ann@ovarian-cysts-pcos.com
Delana gets all the credit because after her dx in July--she'd pmed me about this site and the PCOS diet book"The Natural Diet Solution for PCOS and Infertility"--they also sell the natural supplements and have awesome info on it all and PCOS in general. They have a free e-mail news letter, wich I'm getting now.
I sent my copy of the book to Ashley. :hugs:
I really believe the d-pinitol in particular got me pg this last time, since my Metformin and Actos rx's weren't cutting it anymore(like they used too)I only was on the supplements 2.5 months before getting pg.
So thanks Delana.
Anyone know how long to expect to bleed following a m/c.I m/ced in my 6th week(but started spotting in my 5th and suspect my bean stopped growing then)
This is day #6 since I m/ced--it's real light, but I'm ready to be over this.

Thanks Mama. I still refer to my book all the time. It has great insight about PCOS. I sort of following the diet plan. I've cut out all sugar and dairy, and I'm eating lots of veggies, fruits, and almonds. I'm also eating very high protein. I've lost about 12lbs!!!:lostit: I signed up for the newsletter as well. I plan to order the d-pinitol 600 today. Oh I found a link about prog and pcos. It has a lot of good info too. Scroll down to where it says teenager and pcos. It's about a girl in her young 20's. It also has other great info about prog.

I think I'm going to start prog. after I O till either AF show or the 1st trimester is over.
Char- I'm really glad that the bleeding has stopped.:lostit: Now maybe you can get pg really fast. :hugs:
Good Morning Girls!!!!! I woke up this morning feeling very positive about my game plan. Now if Dec. 12th would just get here fast. (That's when Dh returns from NY for good).
Now I need to get my rear in gear and :dishes: :laundry: :iron: :clothes: :cleanwindow:

Well I posted that the bleeding had stopped only to just now cramp a bit and have some more bleeding and endometrial gunk come out in the pot.Sigh--guess it's over when it's over.
It's very much stop and start since yesterday.Still bright red--so not done yet.
I got spoiled only having 4 day Af's--but I know this is different,I m/ced.I just cannot for the life of me remember how long I bled post m/c w/ my first m/c at 8 weeks. That one started out by passing a mucus type blood tinged plug, then brown-pink spotting the week before(w/ no cramping)until I hit the following week and the my body decided to cramp and m/c in week 8.
I was hopeing the spotting and light pink bleeding the week before I m/ced this last one would count and my m/c bleeding wouldn't be too long.Oh well.
Ob said I had a nice thick linning in there(evident from my u/s)
I'm soo ready to be done--both emotionally and physically.
Thanks for the link Delana.Congrats on the weight loss--that's awesome.
I'd lost 3 pounds when I was pg--due to more protien, lower carbs.I need to lose a lot more.I'm eating egg beaters w/ spinach and pepper jack cheese for breakfast everymorning and no carbs in the am.I actually feel fuller.
My plan is useing natural progesterone cream from about 3 dpo(or my best guess on that)--until af shows or end of first trimester.I need to buy more.I'm useing Emitra brand from the health food store.
Ashley--yes,only use it from o--onward.

hi Charlotte! I think it was me about the chromium picolinate. There was a study I found that said that it caused mutations in DNA. I went looking for dosage information when you said what you took and it was different from what I was taking.
This is what I found on Wikipedia:
There are claims that the picolinate form of chromium supplementation aids in reducing insulin resistance, particularly in diabetics, but a meta-analysis of chromium supplementation studies showed no association between chromium and glucose or insulin concentrations for non-diabetics, and inconclusive results for diabetics.[6] This study has been challenged on the grounds that it excluded significant results.[7] Subsequent trials gave mixed results, with one finding no effect in people with impaired glucose tolerance,[8] but another seeing a small improvement in glucose resistance.[9]
In a review of these trials it was again concluded that chromium supplements had no effect on healthy people, but that there might be an improvement in glucose metabolism in diabetics, although the authors stated that the evidence for this effect remains weak.[10]
There is concern that chromium picolinate is more likely to cause DNA damage and mutation than other forms of trivalent chromium,[11] but these results are also debated.[12] Other studies indicate that chromium picolinate is safe even at very high doses.[13] In mice, chromium(III) picolinate supplementation results in skeletal defects in their offspring.[14] In fruit flies, chromium(III) picolinate supplementation generates chromosomal aberrations, impedes progeny development,[15] and causes sterility and lethal mutations.[16]
I freaked out and stopped taking it. I had only been on it a week. I kept my other supplements though. I found something else that said that the mutations were caused by putting chromium directly on cells and they said that wasn't how it really happened in your body. I talked to DH and we decided not to take the chance, but it seems to be very popular as of late. I never know what to think and there's always information for each side that seems valid. :dunno:

Thanks Erin--I'm stopping it immediately. That is something I dont feel comfortable useing now,esp.ttc.
I had stopped it when I got my bfp to be safe-even before knowing this.
I take as little as possible when pg--only the Metformin, folic acid and prenatals.I was told by my Endocrinologist to stay on Metformin the first 14 weeks because it keeps progesterone levels up in PCOS mamas to be and they think it cuts m/c rates down for us PCOS women. Then supposedly at 14 weeks the progesterone is made by the placenta instead of the ovaries.
Ashley--take chromium picolinate out of my fertility info.on the thread please.TIA.

Thanks everyone. :hugs: My day was pretty crappy, but thanks to a great friend I think it will be ok, at least until my hubby gets home and can stop. My son threw up while in the nursery during bible study so I had to leave. Then he got sick more once we got home. He then proceeded to take a nice warm shower and then came out fine. So he has been boucing off the walls all day cause I won't feed him as much food as he wants to eat.
Julie, from what I have heard opk's can be used as preggo tests but they aren't as sensative so it takes a lot longer to get a positive on it.
CalebsMome

Charlotte:  I was hoping I didn't offend, but I wanted you to have the same info that I found incase you wanted to change from it as well. :goodvibes: I'm SO glad you guys are trying again. Sarah's going to be a great big sister! If I'm ever lucky enough to get pg again, those are the same meds I'd continue to take as well.
Robyn: How are you doing?
Melissa: I'm sorry you have to be back with us, but I'm glad you decided to join us again :hugs:
Julie: I think that for an OPK to be used as a pregnancy test, you have to know you ovulated and the test line has to be darker than the test line and you have to test after your af would have been due. :headscratch: I "think" I found that on the website with all the pictures of stick addicted to the stick maybe. I dunno, but I tried it and it didn't work for me, but I have PCOS so I think that throws a wrench in the system.
Kristin: What's shakin'? Do you travel for the baseline ultrasound or will and RE or OB near you do that? :crossfingers:
As for us, we're trying the supplements and I realized I've lost more weight than I thought I had lost. I put on a gown that I know was too small not that long ago, and it fits fine. I was SO excited. DH wants to do another cycle using the Femara instead of the Clomid. His thinking is that insurance paid for all we did before except the co-pay and meds that we have nothing to lose. I don't know though. I want to. The money was a big thing in stopping, but I'm in a good place right now. I still deeply deeply desire another child, but I'm okay right now. I can function, and not be SO overtaken by jealousy, etc. However, what if losing weight and calming down about it makes it work and we get a little one? My cup would runneth over. Caleb would be such a good big brother and he's almost 3  I don't know. I'm torn. I thought because of the money it wasn't even an option, but now I'm back to having to decide. DH is all for it. His thinking is just to not get our hopes up, but to at least give it a shot a while longer. I want to give him this that he desires so much, not that I don't. I just don't want to be back to where I was. DS helped one of the girls take care of the "real baby" weekend before last. It would cry and he would pat it on the back, if that didn't work he'd get the bottle, if that didn't work he would get a diaper, and if that didn't work he would say "what's wrong baby?" :giggle2: Any ideas?
PS: Our kitchen turned out beautifully! The backsplash isn't done yet though, so I'll post pics when that's done. :-D

Hello still in the thinking about all this group. Background on me, I'm Sarah my DD was born 8/14/07 and she was conceived naturally. We are now researching number two. i say researching because while pg with dd i was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, i had the tumor and my right ovary removed at 16 weeks, dd was a scheduled section at 34 weeks.
So now we begin the ttc journey again with several more bumps in the road to consider: i have a mirena with scheduled removal for the first week in jan. Then i have to see my cardiologist to be cleared by them, will be the least of the concerns. Then to the endocrine doc to make sure my thyroid is functioning properly and the mass on it have not grown (discovered during chemo).
So i guess i begin with ??'s. What is a good ttc multi vit? We want to know if my remaining ovary even works after chemo (no guarantee) how do we test this?
i know this isn't going to be an easy journey, so i'm turning to you the
'pro's' to begin my research so i go in jan fully informed of options and am not bullied.... not that i think my doc would bully me or could bully me...
i guess a lot of this from my end is no one ever has a baby after ovarian cancer (at least that i've found). most people don't have ovarian cancer at 26 either so i'm 'special' on all fronts.

Welcome sarah!
I was doing some research yesterday. Got a question for you mama's who know much more about TTC remidies than I do :) Can i take baby asprin with out being prescribed by the doc to do so. With 3 early m/c's I wonder if it would help. If so when do you take it in your cycle? the whole thing? I am back to taking my prenatal, folic acid and b6 vitamins this month (after my 2 month break) I'm just wondering if the BA would help too. I need to check and see if i can find progesterone cream at walmart today or tomorrow when we go shopping.

:grouphug Sarah I'm glad you're here with us. I don't have any advice, but all things are possible! You never know until you try. Maybe they can stimulate your other ovary with clomid or something and monitor a cycle to see what happens.
Kirstin: This is what I found on baby asprin. It's from sharedjourney.com
Recently, a number of different studies have been performed on the use of aspirin to increase fertility. Women who had experienced multiple miscarriages and who were undergoing IVF treatment were given low doses of aspirin daily. Subsequent pregnancy rates were then compared to pregnancy rates produced by women who received no aspirin therapy. Surpisingly, more than 45% of those women taking aspirin during treatment became pregnant, while only 28% of those women not taking aspirin were able to conceive.
Recent aspirin studies also show that aspirin may be helpful in increasing pregnancy rates in all women. Aspirin appears to increase the activity of the ovaries, allowing them to release multiple eggs during ovulation. It also appears to increase blood flow to the uterus, allowing for a thicker and healthier uterine lining.

Sorry girls, I don't want to interrupt but just wanted to add that I take BA for recurrent miscarriage. I took it during my 4th pregnancy (chromosomal loss so obviously the BA couldn't have helped that) and during my only successful pregnancy. I'm taking it this time too.
A lot of doctors will recommend it as standard protocol to women who have gone through unexplained recurrent miscarriage (along with progesterone supplements and sometimes injectable blood thinners) and it is also used in women who have blood clotting disorders (sometimes instead of injectable blood thinners, sometimes in addition to, depending on the disorder and how bad it is) and some autoimmune disorders (I tested positive for elevated antinuclear antibodies back in 2004).
Anyway, my vote is that it can't hurt and may help when all is said and done.

 Good afternoon ladies! I hope you all are having a nice day today. I wasn’t around much yesterday but I had a great day (thanks for asking Delana)! I was supposed to be out of the house most of the day yesterday but it didn’t seem to work out that way. My son had a visit scheduled with his bios (I usually drop him off then Eliana and I go shopping until he is done, we end up being out of the house from like 11-3) so we drove out there and they didn’t show. So then we drove all the way back home. The kids were really tired when we got home so I put them down for a nap. It was dark and snowy out, I turned their heater on so they were all warm and cuddly and they ended up sleeping till my husband came home at 5 :yikes: So I took that unexpected extra time off to catch up on my reading. I got more then halfway through Taking Charge of Your Fertility, I really like it, it is so thorough. I also had a meeting last night that got canceled so I had extra time to work on the baby blanket I am making for a friend’s baby shower that's on the 7th.
Julie: The temps look GREAT (I told you I’d be stalking  )!!! Ahhh I can’t wait for you BFP!!!!!!!!!!! :lostit:
Erin: Congrats on the weight loss :highfive: That’s so sweet about your DH and DS, they sound like great ‘guys’. I bet your DH wants a little daddy’s girl, doesn't he… oh that would be too cute, I’m sure your DS would just love a little sister! Good luck with the decision! As you can obviously tell I think you should go for it!
Hi Sarah (our first foster baby’s name was Sarah… oh I miss her so much still) welcome to the group! Sounds like you have quiet the journey ahead :hugs: . Oh my temps for the last two days aren't the most accurate. Yesterday the babies both woke up at 5:15 so I just temped then instead of at 5:45 when I usually temp (not that big of a difference I'm sure) but today my husband's alarm never went off so I didn't temp until 7 when mine went off. I'm not planning on testing until Tuesday. Eliana's adoption is going to be finalized that day so if I get a BFN I wont be too bummed since we have been waiting for this day since January 2nd! I almost never test early anymore anyway, I just cant take the BFN, I take it way too hard  So I'll just have to wait and see. When are you planning on testing?

Oh, I'm on facebook (and myspace too)! But I'll only make you my friend if you promise never to mention anything publicly about us TTC  No one IRL knows we are trying and I like it that way :giggle: Oh and you have to tell me how to add you since I have no clue!
Delana, that really sucks about the ticket and the jerky cop :yuck: that would ruin my day too. I have actually never gotten a ticket, I almost did twice when I was younger but I got out of both of them!
Ok, here's my picture. I think it's a funny picture, with us standing in front of the barn/shed thing it looks like DH should be holding a pitch fork or something :roflmbo: It was our 5th anniversary (this past May) we got all dressed up so I had my MIL take our picture when we dropped the babies off to them... I had a really bad day.
It all started with my dog. I love my dog, but he seems to be a constant revolving door of problems. He is a poodle and in desperate need of a hair cut. So, I got up early this morning to take him to the groomer. I was talking to him and pushed his hair back to see his eyes (yes, his hair is so long, you can't see his eyes). I asked him if he was ready for a hair cut so he could see, and I noticed that his left eye had milky puss coming out of it. I canceled the grooming appointment and made a vet appointment. It turns out he must have run into something (he has cataracts, and the hair in his eye, so he cannot see very well) and scratched the cornea. The vet said that if we had waited to get him seen, he could have lost his sight rather quickly. He came home with 3 meds.
Then DH and I had Dr's visits with our PCP. DH got a flu shot, and I decided against it this year because I do not want to mess with the fertility stuff. (I actually need flu shots because I have chronic asthma). The dr. did not like that I declined, but didn't fight with me either.
For dinner, I did not have enough cheese, and I dropped an opened package of cookies all over the pantry floor. I left them there.
We got our trigger shot in the mail today. I am overwhelmed.
Tonight we went to a small group with our church. A very happy couple announced they are 11 weeks pregnant. We are the only ones in the group without kids. Another couple is finalizing an international adoption.
I am in the middle of my Femara meds, and just emotional. My house is a wreck and my family will be here in a few days.
Ugg. Thanks for listening.
I will try again tomorrow.
BTW, I will see if I can't get a picture added tonight. For now, here is a picture of our dog, AJ.
Hi girls. Sorry I went awol on ya. I've been on a roller coaster ride the past few days with my body and temps. But, it all came crashing down today after I went for a beta, which was negative, and then AF showed up finally. Stinkin' huzzy!! Oh well, I knew it was coming at least. I'm onto a new cycle and need to call tomorrow to see what my RE wants to do with me this month. I hope everyone had a great day! I'm off to read and catch up on the thread.

Hi ladies! Hugs to all. Sorry I was MIA the past few days.....on Tuesday mid-morning I came down with a horrendous and sudden stomach bug that totally destroyed me for the rest of the day, ugh. And then yesterday our cable modem at our house died so we had no internet - I was able to exchange the modem though and get it hooked back up last night late.
I'll come back in a bit for personals..........but quickly, to answer you Melissa I was planning on trying to go to Dartmouth to their fertility clinic.........we're a good 2.5 hrs. or so south of Burlington so Dartmouth would actually be much closer......but you never know. I'd love to know the name of the person you saw just in case :). Thanks!
I *think* AF will be leaving today or tomorrow - it was definitely longer/heavier than normal, so hopefully I have a nice clean slate now for a sticky bean soon *fingers crossed*.
Back soon.

Excuse me to begin, this will be a very long post LOL.
Welcome Sarah........it's really nice to have you join us :hugs: :hugs: :hugs:
Hooray for weight loss! (I'm still 20 lbs. over pre-pg. weight, which kills me :() and I can't wait to see pics of your kitchen!
Well no more bleeding since this am~cross fingers it's gone.
Hope it's still gone, many many hugs...........I think AF is finally leaving me today......
Thank you so much for that. I just started on BA and am hoping it will help.....

Well boo for AF but good to know what's happening. I think with TTC I hate the uncertainty and anxiety more than anything :yuck: .
Here is a pic of me with my darling boy this past June when we went for a Day Out with Thomas LOL..........it's not a wonderful pic, but you get the idea.
OK so does anyone else take what feels like a million supplements and if so, do you feel kinda yucky from taking all of them? I'm wondering if I should be spacing mine out more......this morning I took (and this includes my scrips):
Lexapro
Claritin
Vitex
Red Raspberry Leaf
Omega-3
Prenatal Multi
B6
Baby aspirin
CoQ10
Evening primrose oil
I'm just burping up a storm right now (TMI, sorry :yuck: ). As it is, I need to take another EPO and some more red raspberry leaf later today, should I just switch to doing like half in the morning though and half before bed? I feel kind of yuck. I did eat breakfast too and drink a few glasses of water.

Well, I'm sorry, it's just the Robyn thread this morning :giggle: . I had to come back though as I just spoke with my m/w office again and it is sounding like the midwife who was reviewing my case for referral doesn't think the specialist will even agree to see me as I have "had a pregnancy" within the past year. Well, uh, I lost that one. And then I just got pregnant and lost that one too. So how many pregnancies do I have to lose for them to agree to see me? WTF?!?!?!
And also, as it turns out my insurance won't cover anything for infertility except maybe a diagnosis anyway. So I'm kind of at a loss, I don't have any idea what to do. :( I'm really pissed though.
Sorry, had to vent.

:hugs: Robyn. :hugs: I'm so sorry.
I'm at a loss as to when to go to an RE. Because, I want to get to one quick, but I am only 22, and I am terrified to hear, "Try some more"... We've been trying for almost a year and a half, how much longer do I need to try?!?
As soon as I start taking my TTC cocktail again, I will feel the same way.
I have:
Multivitamin
Folic Acid
Light Prenatal
Calcium [i have a horrid time getting enough]
Saw Palmetto
Cinnamon
Vitex
And, an estrogen pill, which has Evening Primrose, Soy Isoflavones, Black Cohosh, and some other things in it I can't remember.
I just started doing progesterone cream again.
And, I will be adding a glass or two of green tea a day, and at least 64 ounces of water a day.
I'm trying to cut dairy out of my diet, but I just LOVE cheese on my subs from Subway... :giggle2:
:thud: That's a lotta stuff to do to TTC... But, if it all brings me the results I want, then it's worth it, right?!?

ugh that sucks mama. However I've been dealing with this issue for a while, and there are a couple ways to sorta get what you want anyway :giggle: The first is trying to see if there are any regular OB's that are covered under your insurance that specalize in infertility. That way, they have the knowledge and the info that you need, but you don't have to pay the extra cost (or wait until they decide it's appropriate) to be referred to an RE. I did this a couple years ago, and it turned out to be awesome. Also since you've had 2 losses now, you may want to check with your insurance, because I know for me at least I have absolutely zero infertility coverage. However.... I've been informed that the testing (and hopefully treatment) for recurring pregnancy loss is not considered infertility. So I'm getting all of the testing and such paid for, by clarifying that it is NOT infertility testing. Even though many of the tests are the same tests that they would do for an infertility workup. Insurance sucks! I'm so sorry that you are having to work around all of this kind of crap. :hugs:

Oh Robyn, that sucks. I know that after I had my second m/c I asked my dr what else we could do and she said that they really don't do anything until after the 3rd miscarriage. I was mad, but thankfully my next one was sticky. My friend however, had two miscarriages also and went to the same dr. When they told her the "need to have 3 miscarriages" spiel, she went to a different place and they put her on progesterone right away with her next pregnancy. If I don't hear what I want to hear (like, I don't *want* to have more miscarriages before they will help me!), I'll go somewhere else.
Why is 3 losses the issue? Because the first two are obviously flukes? Who wrote that rule? Ugh. Anyways, sorry went off there! I'm going to check out that Infertility Cure book from the library, among others. Anything helps.

Robyn, even if your insurance doesn't have IF coverage, they should cover recurrent m/c. Since you've had two in a row that should qualify you; the days of insurance covering only after three in a row are pretty much over.
ETA: Some HCP's will say that you need to have 3 in a row before they'll do testing. Check with your insurance company first, they are the ones who determine what you're eligible for.

Thanks everyone. Some really good advice/thoughts here :hugs:. I'm kind of in limbo, as I'm not sure my m/w practice will view me in EITHER the "infertility" OR the "recurrent m/c" columns.....this being simply because my 2nd miscarriage which I just had was SUPER early and I'm not sure whether they would treat that "chemical" pregnancy as a true loss or not. So either I'm not infertile because I've been pregnant this past year, or I am not a case of recurrent m/c because I've only had one "real" loss (@ 9 wks. in March).

Actually, we were 27 and 32 in that picture. We are now 30 and 35!! It is actually frustrating because if and when I tell someone we are dealing with IF, they say, "but you are so young, you have so much time!!" Uh, not if we want several kids.

I knoooowww..I am so impatient. I want to test soo bad but don't want another crappy BFN staring back at me. I have no clue with the other two, I was 18 when I got pregnant with Jake and didn't know anything about cycles. Then with Clara I just knew I was pregnant, but got BFN a couple times before a BFP. So, I am nervous about testing now.
Your temps are still looking promising! :hugs: It would be awesome to have a due date buddy!

Robyn, it doesn't matter if your m/w doesn't think they will want to see you.....it isn't up to her to make that decision. I would call the RE and tell them that you have ahd 2 losses in the past year!!! And he would be an idiot if he denied you care, you are exactly the kind of person who needs to get checked out! Just be persistent my dear. And again you don't need a referral, you just need to call the doctor's office and make an appt:thumbsup: I get so angry when helath care people try to play down your concerns.....you know that something is not right and health care professionals need to respect that and take a look at what is going on.
ok off of :soapbox: now:blush: Can you tell the meds are affecting my mood today:blush:
Well as for me i passed my basseline and ultrasound this am, so i start the shots tomorrow!!!! Woot woot!

Ashley, i got the same run around b/c we are "younger". I voiced my concerns to my midwife after we had been ttc for 1 year and she gave me that whole "you have plenty of time", "you are so young", BS...and i was naive enough to believe her. But i am sorry, if you have been actively ttc (not just randomly having sex, but doing all of the crap that we all have been doing to ttc) and it has been even close to 1 year....THERE IS A PROBLEM maybe big, maybe small!!!! I just want to scream at the doctors sometimes!!! When you are young, you are in the most fertile stage of your life and to spend a year+ ttc with no luck is a HUGE red flag in my opinion. If my first stupid MW would have listened to me when i told her there was something wrong then we wouldn't have hit the three years of ttc #1 mark several months ago:banghead: :banghead: Why o why do they think they know our bodies better than we do????:headscratch: Honey I urge you to go to an RE if you have insurance or you can afford to. As i have said several times if there is an issue you are soooo much better of to know what you are up against rather than taking guesses at the problem and trying to address them from that angle. I tried so much natural stuff before we got dh's diagnosis and come to find out several of the natural remedies were prob making things worse. So if you don't think you are ready to treat whatever prob medically then at least once you ahve an idea what the prob is you can go about trying to correct it naturally if that it what you so desire.
:giggle2: Is someone gonna cut me off:roflmbo: :roflmbo: This rant could go on for days:-)

Ok, i need to calm down some.....lol....so here are some personals:
Nicole- That is awesome that you found a way around the infertility insurance debacle!! Have you donne any recent testing? And i meant to tell you a while ago that i looked the MTHFR stuff up in the beer book adn these is lots of good info about it....i highly highly recommend it as a good read when you have time:-) Did you check to see if your library had it?
And where are you at in your cycle?
Roses- I totally agree with you that the whole 3 losses rule is a load of bull... Typically in women under 40 miscarriages d/t genetic issues are pretty uncommon, but it seems like miscarriage are quite common? So imo it doesn't take a genius to figure out that someone with a loss or 2 or 3 needs to be looked at closer and hopefully sooner rather than later.
And where are you at in your cycle?
Crystal- I have been around...very grumpy and tired and icky feeling. But we got over the firrt hurtle today by getting decent finding on the ultrasound & b/w within the normal range. So a little load off of my shoulders:-) And i wanted to say that i highly recommend the acupuncture. The guy i use specializes in infertility which is very important, but his patients are alwasys getting pregnant whiledoing the herbs & accup in between cycles. He gets their bodies so blanaced that it seems like most of them get pregnant without needing medical intervention:eek: I wish tht would work for us, but i don't think he can help dh's sterility. While it is a bit pricey, if it prevents you from needing fertility treament then it is soooooo worth it in my book:-)
And Julie :crossfingers: :yay:  I hope this is your month! Us infertility girls need a graduate to boost our spiritis....so are you gonna be the one to graduate for us??

Kristin- I love the soap box smilie. It makes me :giggle2: . You have every right to be on that soap box. I'm so glad things went well for you today. 1 step closer to that bfp. (twins or triplets, I hope).
I ordered my d-pintiol this morning. Man, it wasn't cheap. oh well it won't matter when I see my bfp.
So here's my cocktail.
b-complex (2x a day)
fish oils, burb less of course (2x a day)
red raspberry leaf capsules (1x a day)
vitex, chasteberry (2x a day)
prenatals (1x a day)
My question is when do you start the d-pinitol? Does it matter where you are in your cycle?
Oh yeah I'm also going to start prog. cream from O to AF or BFP. If I get a BFP I will continue the prog till the end of the 1st trimester.
Am I missing anything?

My cocktail is pretty mellow and I added most of it yesterday
Origin multi-vitamin for women (target brand vitamins that are getting rave reviews on FF)
Baby asprin
Folic Acid
and I try and take an iron supplement like once a week.
I am horrible at personals but I have been thinking and praying for all of you :goodvibes:

I think everyone's natural supplements are fantastic! We're all on very similar stuff.
I think insurance companies are stupid and shoot themselves in the foot with all their stupid rules about what they will cover and won't cover. I have a fantastic RE that codes everything strange and that's how they get things paid for. I called to ask both Blue Cross Blue Shield and the RE. The nurse said, "well, here's the thing, we don't code it as infertility and they pay for it, we code the same procedure as infertility and they won't. We don't think that's fair or right, so we code things as the underlying issue because it's not right that they won't pay for it." I wanted to hug her for saying that. You know, what if I try to do natural supplements and it causes some kind of wierd reaction that lands me in the hospital. They'll pay for that, at probably in excess of $1,000 and follow ups, etc. Now, for the same price they could have paid for a consultation, bloodwork, HSG, etc. Also, what if someone gets depressed and has to be treated for that. They pay for that, but it would be SO much cheaper and better for their customers to treat the issue and not let it get to having to treat depression. I'm apparently feeding off of Kristin's good meds.
Okay, onto other things though. I was thinking today about how I need to be grateful for things. I started thinking today about this whole TTC completely not working thing. I started thinking about when I so desperately wanted a husband. You see, when I was 15, I made a commitment to God that I'd not date anyone but whom he revealed to me to be my future husband. I had dated a guy for 3 days who ended-up being exactly like my birth father (term used loosely) and I just committed to let God control. Well, 7 years later, not a date, not a look, not a nothing, I was starting to doubt this whole commitment, but I had based my life around the idea that it might never happen. I was prepared to live my life alone. Well, in comes DH, we met on christiancafe.com. Corny though it is, the first time I heard his voice I knew he was the one. That was January 27, June 7 we were engaged, and August 7th we were married. I had always questioned God's timing, but my step father, who gave me away, died September 5th of that year. He was perfectly healthy the day I got married. (He died from angio sarcoma). The timing, it turns out, was perfect. I had just graduated, had a job, and my step dad was well. I graduated in December he died in September, DH and I met, fell instantly in love, and married in that time. DS, I believe was sent by God a year and a half later to heal. I think God knew I couldn't take infertility then. However, I am stronger now. I can handle this one day at a time and I'm learning so many things I never would have learned otherwise. When I finally do hold this next baby in my arms, it will be just like I tell the girls about DH "it was worth the wait I promise." (not that it takes away from DS, but you get the idea). Anyway, I've just been pensive today and I wanted to share.
Oh and, I had EWCM today, gobs. I haven't seen that since the last time I know I ovulated on my own in June of 2006. :lostit:
Oh, and I completed a 45 minute spinning class today. The teacher said "you probably will have to gradually build up from 20 minutes in 5 minute increments." I did not. I was grateful. :-D

Erin, thanks for sharing that. I too had a very similar experience getting my sweet husband. I told God I didn't want drama and I didn't want to date. I just wanted Him to pick the one for me and I could be done with it. My hubby came into my life shortly after and we just knew. 8 years later here we are.
I forget sometimes how blessed we truly are. :touched:

Kristin: How much does the acupuncture run? I did a little searching online today (like very little, the babies wouldn't nap so I only had like 10 minutes) but didn't find much info. I really only read about using it for infertility if there is an underlying issue that is known or in preparation for a procedure but in the book I thought she talked about it being helpful for just general fertility :headscratch: I'm emberassed to admit that book kind of confuses me  I have like 3 of the 'patterns' and I cant figure out what herbs I'm supposed to take, she mentions so many. I'm making DH read through some of it just so I have someone else double checking everything I decide to take, I don't want to screw this up.
Erin: :goodvibes: I love your stories! I think you should tell one every day  they take my mind off of the stress of ttc and always leave me feeling warm and fuzzy!

I forget who asked about acupuncture  but I can tell you when I used to go, which was a good 3 years ago, it was about $60 per session. My treatment started at 1x a week for about 4 weeks and then down to every two weeks, etc. etc. Insurance didn't cover any of that for me (and probably still wouldn't). I don't know if the prices have gone up in general since then, but I hope that helps a little :goodvibes: ......

I have a question for all of you that will answer, I already posted it in off topic last week but I didn't get much help, I hope you don't mind me posting it here. So as you all know by now Eliana's adoption will be finalized on the 25th and we all need to dress nice that day for court. I bought this cute little knit dress for her and now I'm kicking myself because I cant find any shoes that I think match. Someone told me just to find some mary janes but the only ones I could find were dark brown and looked terrible. I am about the least fashionable person around and I need your help here. Good evening ladies~I'm too tired to do personals now but wanted to catch up on everyone and post an update on me.
My Ob requested I do a hpt 1 week post m/c,wich I did on Thursday. It was a cruel shock to still see a BFP.I called the office and left my message about it being BFP.So the Ob's nurse calls back and told me--he wanted me to come in this am for another quantative HCG draw,it sucks.
My body is still sensitive to the leftover hormones because I'm still ubber tired and my breasts still hurt.My m/c bleeding started peetering out on day 5 post m/c and gone for good early in the am on day 6.(wich was Wenesday)
It sucks--I wont hear back until Monday--I just want it to be a low 0-5 HCG so I can o and we can ttc again.
Supposedly my last HCG were a sad 42 on Monday and a horridly awful 20 Wenesday(the day before I m/ced)--that was a week ago, then I tested at home and still a bfp.:banghead:
I just want to be back to normal.
My face is breaking out and I keep peeing.Uuugh.
Katina~~:bighug: :bighug:
Delana~You can start the d-Pinitol now.I would not start it if you are oing now--as you wouldn't need it,since you were oing on your own,but otherwise start it.Goodluck!

Hi all! Sorry I was MIA. I've been painting our guest bedroom this very offensive green that DH apparently LOVES. :yuck: Oh well, I never even go in that room, and I'm almost done now. Today's agenda is to do the backsplash. Fix some tiles on the floor that are warped because they are the 18 inch tiles. Had we known that 18 inch tiles were prone to warping and that we would have to dig up the grout and inject mortar under them to fix it, we would not have paid $6 a tile for the bigger tiles and paid a lot less for smaller tiles that wouldn't have warped. Oh well, it looks SOOOOOO good. Anyway, DH's parents and his grandmother are coming down for turkey day. His grandmother is coming and she's never seen our new house (well new as of 2 years ago in January), hence all the improvement things. Hopefully I'll be able to post pics of the kitchen/ dining room Monday or so when we get the floor tiles fixed and the myriad of junk that was taken out of the kitchen and thrown in the dining room put back where it goes. I'll post pics of the ugly green room later today.
On another note, on Tuesday we're going to pick up the fullsize bed rails that we ordered a year ago to convert DS's crib into a full size bed. This just makes me sad. I had really hoped it would be a crib again by now. I guess that's why I've waited so long to go pick them up. I wanted to not have to use them. Oh well, that was why we bought the bed to start with was so that it could become something more useful than just a crib or toddler bed.
On the ttc front, nothing much going on. The ladies have been sore for some reason off and on, a little more EWCM. Today is day 12. If the EWCM meant I ovulated that would give me a 26 or so day cycle. :headscratch: Very odd, oh well. We'll see what happens. I figure there's more EWCM to come later sometime, but I could be wrong. Actually, with this TTC thing I'm wrong more than I'm right :roflmbo:
I'll be back later for personals!

Oh wow Kristin! That is overwhelming! So how many of the meds are injectable, and how many are oral? You should save that picture forever, and someday when your teenager is giving you a hard time you should show them that :giggle: Maybe that will help them appreciate the hard work you went through to get them here.

They are all injectible except the big white container of prenatal vits, the little brown bottle of the dexamethasone and the z-pack.....and then the lovely white boxes are vag suppositories:yuck:

So kirstin, how many shots a day are you getting? Is your DH giving them to you or are you doing it yourself?
