So my DD (8.5 months) has reflux which we treat with medication (Axid) twice a day. When she was younger, she was on both Axid and Prevacid. Until recently, giving her medication was NBD. Now, she cries as soon as she sees a syringe. She is BF, and eats some solids, although not every day. She has started also refusing to take any food from me that I try to give her. A couple of weeks ago she had another ear infection (her 6th!) and developed a high fever, and when we gave her tylenol she freaked out! I'm not sure what to do about her medications. She needs to have them, but I can't give it to a screaming baby. Any ideas?:headscratch:

I remember Martin going through this with all his meds. It was a struggle, but we just kept at it, pretended they were no big deal, and he eventually became ok with them again.
Can you put them in something she likes...like chocolate pudding, or something yummy like that? I know its not the greatest idea, but sometimes that is what we have had to do to get meds into him, he needs them, and can't not have them (they are for epilepsy, his heart, and GERD)
:hugs: Momma it does get easier.

Why did they take her off of Prevacid? I've found that is the easiest to give. You can just crumble it on your fingers and it tastes good, too.

We currently are using solutabs, and she actually likes them. When having to do liquid meds, I have to cradle her and kind of lean her back, if she's grabby dh will have to hold her hands down. Not ideal, but we gotta get it in!
