Anyone know of any good ones. I've been going to the fabric land in Londonderry mall but they are rude as heck there and i find their prices to be steep. I'd prefer to stay in the North end as I live in Castledowns but I can travel if need be too.
Thanks mama's!

I loved Marshall's fabrics on the southside of Edmonton. It's worth the drive, IMHO

I don't know of any on the north end, but Marshall Discount Fabrics is on 99st and Argyll. I find their prices comparable to Fabricland (maybe a bit cheaper) but the store a whole lot harder to navigate. They have a lot of clearance though, for fairly cheap.

Davey Fabrics is another one I've heard of but haven't actually gone (if you go, let me know what you think). Their address is 10505-169 St.

Try other Fabricland locations. I've heard other bad things about the Londonderry one and the last time I was there, I wasn't impressed. But the Sherwood Park and Millwoods Town Center locations are both great. If you are a member and shop just for sale stuff, you can get some pretty great deals.

Walmart also sells fabric and I've gotten some great fabrics from their $1.99/m bin. I stocked up when a few of the locations were closing their fabric section too.

When I tried Davey Fabric you needed to be a business, and produce a GST # to buy from them. They had some interesting stuff, but nothing remarkable.
I'm in Ontario now, so it's a different franchise for Fabricland, but we get some amazing knit ends here. They are flawed production or roll ends from Antex, and there are some great prints.
They come on sale for $3.50 a m too.
I've found ones that are on the Fabric Fairy and Crybaby's, and I've found Vera Bradley and Michael Miller prints in the 'Craft Ends' section. Just take your time, and try to go on your own.
Tricky, I know.
The Fabricland at 118Ave and 142St was always a good bet, as was the one out on Stony Plain Rd and about 172nd? ST.

I'm in St. Albert, used to live in the north end. I didn't much like Londonderry Fabricland either. I like St. Albert much better. Marshall's is good too, as long you're selective. Their fleece isn't very nice sometimes, and some of the flannel tends to pill and fade a lot. I find if you have a Fabricland membership, their prices are comparable to Marshall's - at least on sale days. I never buy anything for full price. Fabricland has frequent sales, often on weekends and such. If you get the Journal, there's often an ad for a weekend sale. Otherwise you can also be on the mailing/phoning list.

hope that helps you!

Davys fabrics on the west end, it's a bit of a drive, and they are a wholesale place so you can find really good deals there!!

I am with you though with how rude the people at fabricland in londonderry are. Not my favorite place to shop for sure

I love, love, love the FL in St.Albert, it is pretty close to the casino there, like right across the street. The service there is awesome and the selection is fantastic. They also carry alot of different types of fabric which you cant seem to find anywhere else. Take care! Dawn
