i had a small amount of the GBS bacteria in my urine early on, so I have to have antibiotics during labor (through an IV) no matter what my 37 week test result is. i'm really concerned about getting thrush and having a hard time breastfeeding afterwards because of the antibiotics. i have also read about how the antibiotics can cause a lack of resistance to other bacterial infections after the birth (for the baby). i really don't want the antibiotics but i don't want my baby to get GBS either. is anyone else dealing with this?

had it with each one of my kiddo's. No sick kids and nursing champs. I will get it this time as well. It never bothered me.

so you got the antibiotics and there were no side effects? how many "doses" did you get? oh, and i hope you're feeling better :goodvibes:

I got the two doses each time. I didn't get any side effects. And. no, not feeling better-just hoping this week goes by fast and the kids stop beating each other up.:hugs:

I had it my first two deliveries and all were fine as well...not thrush, etc...
