Hey mamas, I have a question on behalf of a friend of mine. She is looking for some natural/herbal remedies for PCOS. I have it myself, but my problem was in keeping a pregnancy, not TTC, and I used Metformin to achieve my first successful pregnancy (not my last, God willing). Metformin isn't an option for her at the moment so she's looking for ways to help without having to see a doctor for a prescription.
I know it took her something like 10 years of TTC before she got PG with her DS, and they've been TTC #2 for something like 18 months now. She hasn't been able to get in to see a specialist because of a bunch of red tape.
If anyone could help me find some information for her, I would really appreciate it and I know she would too! Thanks mamas.

She can take Cinnamon (actually has better results than Metformin with achieving pregnancy) and Super B Complex. Vitex is a good option as well. It takes a good 3 months to see a change.

There is a really good book that has lots of info on PCOS. It's called The Natural Diet Solution for PCOS and Infertitly. I'm doing a modfied form of the diet and so far lost 15lbs in a short time and I'm taking some of the supplements. If you google that book, the author has a web site that has lots of good info.
Right now I'm taking:
Fish oils
Vitex
B-complex
D-pinitol 600
I just my dx in July so I'm not pg yet. Hoping to be soon. I also plan to use a natural progestrone during the 1st trimester.

I have heard that wild yams cream helps. I used it with my first, but I am not sure if that was the reason I got pregnant. I found it at a health food store. I haven't been able to find it locally since.

NO to the wild yams. bad stuff. you should get natural progesterone cream not made from wild yams. i have some cream that i got from www.happypms.com and i am going to start using it today to get af going so i can take my clomid. you can also use npc to get pregnant. go to the site i typed in and you can find some info.
