Hey ladies---
What's your plans for this lovely Friday?
My middle child has a kindergarten xmas party that I have to attend. School is a min. day for the 4th grader. Dh needs his meds refilled from wallgreens. And I HAVE to get these xmas presents wrapped. Can't believe it is Dec. 19th already.
I vac. the whole house from top to bottom and straightened up most of the rooms. I was having lots of contr. but nothing regular, it would go from 20min, to10, to 40. But that's better than nothing. Can't wait till I have a pattern. I see Mommyscott went to the hossy. Hope to hear some good news that maybe this is it? *crossing fingers*.
Well, trying to stay busy and on my feet all day again. Lots of trips up and down my stairs. How is everyone feeling?

I didn't see that she went, I hope this was the real deal for her!! Sounds like you have a busy day. I try to keep busy to keep my mind off things, but haven't had to do it through contractions yet.
I have reached the insomnia, too uncomfortable to sleep phase I guess. I have been waking up from 4am till 6 am for the last week but I just started going to be earlier. Well last night I guess DH got into handyman mode and I was startled awake to hammering into the wall!!! That was at 2 and I tossed the rest of the night,. I look like I have black eyes! Busy day here too! I have Ds's gym class, I need to find DH a present so I may run up to the outlets after that. Then tonight I have our playgroup Christmas party from 5-7. Then home to bed!!

Since I straightened out everything at work and am still employed, DH decided to tell me yesterday that I need to set a better example for Izzy and her upcoming brother by getting some hobbies other than talking on the phone or being on the computer. :jawdrop:
So, if anyone's looking for me for the next 25-life, I'll be serving my sentence for killing my jerk of a DH. :banghead:

I am still dealing with this awful cold that has me coughing all the time. I hate it and it makes my stomach muscles hurt.
I have my family coming in for Christmas tomorrow. Thankfully its just for the day. I have been busy straightening up the house and doing some vacuuming. My dh will help do more heavy cleaning tonight! I still need to go out and get the ham. Will do this after ds is done watching his Vegie Tale movie.
Still need to work on laundry and clean my kitchen. Oh, clean out the fridge so I can fit the ham in there. I do need to straighten up the bonus room and vacuum back there.

I had a nice day yesterday because co-workers threw me a surprise baby shower at work. We had pie and the group gave me a funny long-sleeved onesie and gift card to BRU.
Then I went home and started to feel a little nervous about the delivery. I watched "The Business of Being Born" and the movie convinced me it's not too late to at least interview a few doulas, so I'm contacting one or two today. I'm also a little nervous about where I'll be when I go into labor, so I posted another thread in here asking about driving if you're in the early stages.
Beyond that, I'm going to attempt to clean the bathroom tomorrow. :yuck: It may not be pretty.

i tried watching the business of being born the other day with my hubby and he wasn't for it (i heard him snoring), so i turned it off, i still want to watch it......i think.
my nap was good. just waiting on my mom now to come pick me back up and take me to my ob appointment. my dh is meeting us there. i wanted both of them to be there today since my doc is letting me decide if i want to continue seeing him or go back to the midwife for the chance of a water birth. so i have lots of questions to ask.

I cleaned out the computer/sewing room and put a bunch of stuff in the garage....Well actually, I put it in the hall for DH to put in the Garage. I moved the changing table out of the closet, and put some other things in the closet. I am trying to make room for a twin bed in this room for my mom/DH to use once the baby comes.
My mom is suposed to come and help me after the baby gets here, and even though she lives 10 minutes away I wanted a place for her to sleep if she wanted to.
Also, DH will be graduating from the Police Academy Jan 16 and will have crazy schedules after that. He will need a place to sleep away from the kids.

I can see why you'd not be sure about watching The Business of Being Born. It did scare me a little and knew it would. I'd avoided it in my DVD stack for a few weeks because I just didn't want to hear anything that would make me freaked out, especially with things all lined up for my hospital delivery and all. Guess in the end, it's just another set of information and opinions that you can use to make decisions, but if you're already comfortable with your choices, then maybe you should wait til after Baby Lydia gets here to watch it. I'm sure you'll be fine with or without seeing this movie. There's more than one right way to do just about anything anyway. :fami02:

my SIL saw it with her hubby while they were preggo with their first. they liked it and went with a hospital birth, but a midwife that would allow them more freedom.
however, i won't see it. i have worked the maternal/ fetal field as an RN. and i feel that pretty much ALL medicine has turned into a business. people want pregnancy and birthing to go back to the way it used to be, but they don't want to give up the medical stuff that goes with it, and i'm not talking epidurals and U/S. in all realms of medicine you cannot have your cake and eat it too. just doesn't work that way.

:roflmbo: I'd probably hurt my DH if he said that too.
Today has been a great day! I headed off to work this morning to wrap up all my last minute stuff. Then I packed up my desk and personal items and my coworkers took me to lunch. Now I'm home and officially on my long maternity leave. I don't have to go back until at least June and that's if I decide to go back at all! I am so excited. :lostit: So I'm just relaxing for the rest of the day and enjoying the fact that I don't have to rush around trying to get a whole list of things done before Monday gets here.
I may install the carseat once I go through all the mail.
